The season is in full swing. Trees are growing and in full leaf. Time to look for dead limbs and trees to take care of them before they become more of a problem. Ash trees sadly are continuing to die at extinction rates. If you know someone with a large tract of land with ash trees on it, it is time to do a salvage cut to utilize them while they have some value. Driving down any road and you can see dozens of dead and dying ash trees. Enjoy the late spring weather .

Spring is here once again. Keep a eye out for the white flaked off bark on your ash trees. When that occurs the tree is finished. Plan removal quickly before it gets to dead to safely work with. Dead trees are more dangerous to work with. Get out there and enjoy the fine weather.

Were nearing the end of a great growing season for trees. Plenty of moisture. Gardens had a difficult time. A late growing season for them. Ash trees continuing to die from the emerald ash borer. Driving over 44/55 by Minnewaska every ash tree is dead or very near it. Don't move firewood (ash) at all. It seems inevitable that ash trees will become near extinct. lt's still possible that a biological control will be found. Lets hope so. Now is the time to prune dead limbs on trees while the leaves are still out to notice the dead ones. Fall foliage season is coming soon with leaves starting to color on the mountains. Oct 14 is peak for our area.
