This chimney had water intrusion, rotten decking, and damaged siding and trim. We didn’t just patch the problem—we addressed the source and rebuilt the area to help keep it watertight for the long haul.
Chimneys are one of the most common sources of roof leaks, especially when flashing, siding, trim, or surrounding materials aren’t regularly inspected and maintained. A small issue can quickly turn into rotten decking and costly water damage.
Here’s what we did on this project:
✅ Removed & replaced rotten decking and shingles around the chimney
✅ Replaced rotten wood and installed ice & water shield all around the chimney and under the flashing
✅ Installed new synthetic underlayment to create an additional water-resistant barrier
✅ Fabricated and installed custom chimney flashing
✅ Built a custom cricket on the backside of the chimney to properly divert water flow
✅ Removed & replaced all chimney siding and trim
✅ Painted the new siding and trim
✅ Painted the chimney cap for a complete, finished look
