When Petra reached out in January 2023, she had a vision: create space where 12-13 grandchildren could gather for baking, meals, and precious family time 💙

The challenge? Design a large, open addition that felt like it had always been part of their Oconomowoc home. No central support posts interrupting the flow. Seamless flooring throughout. Custom trim matching the existing architecture ✨

Then we hit a snag: the existing fieldstone foundation couldn't support the new addition. Instead of compromising, our team engineered a comprehensive masonry solution that kept the project on track and the design intact 🏗️

The result? A spacious family gathering area with Pella windows flooding it with light, premium finishes built for family life, and a space that comfortably fits everyone around the table 💪

Floor joists running the wrong way for that new toilet location. Roof framing that can't be moved without massive cost and headaches. Existing conditions that limit what we can do with the space.

That's where the education happens. At the initial visit, we talk possibilities. "I think we could do this" - even when it's different from the original vision ✨

What does a project manager actually do? Everything between your first walkthrough and your final handoff 💙

It starts with the initial visit - visualizing the space, getting a feel for each other. Because we're going to be working together daily for weeks or months ✨

Then comes the nitty gritty. Design details. Selections with Malory. How trades tie into those selections. How mechanical parts and pieces need to talk to one another. Making sure everything connects 🏗️

Throughout construction: constant communication about scheduling, about what to expect.

Day-to-day life will look different for a while. Our job is keeping you informed every step of the way. Then wrapping up all the little parts and pieces so we can fully turn the project back over to you 💪

When your gorgeous hardwood deck has a spiral staircase smack dab in the middle, parties get complicated 🏡

Lori and Andrew loved their deck but struggled having guests navigate those spiral stairs. The solution? Remove it, infill the opening with an inset "picture frame" layout that looks intentional, and build new accessible stairs everyone can confidently use.

The challenges: Planning custom railing details in the field. Using helical piers instead of concrete footings for cleaner engineering. Stabilizing stringer movement with additional framing and steel post bases ⚡

The result: "Our deck and steps look wonderful! I had the grandkids over this weekend, and they love the new steps! Makes life so much easier" 💙
