Spent the day at a dentist's office installing a 30-amp disconnect and buck-boost transformers to help keep their equipment operating the way it should.

Now, most people go to the dentist thinking about their teeth. We show up thinking about voltage, transformers, disconnects, and making sure all that expensive equipment has the power it needs to do its job.

Today’s project: subpanel installation and an EV charger install.

Now that’s what you call preparing a home for the future.

The new subpanel gives the homeowner the extra power capacity they need, while the EV charger makes charging at home faster, cleaner, and way more convenient.

No more hunting for charging stations or waiting forever on a basic outlet.

A lot goes into work like this behind the scenes — load calculations, clean wiring, proper breaker sizing, safe connections — all the things that make sure everything works smoothly and safely once we flip the switch.

“When Your Panel Throws a Fire Party… Not Invited 😳⚡🔥”

Got a call this morning — customer’s panel caught fire last night.

Yeah… that’s not the kind of “light show” anybody’s asking for.

Now imagine trying to sleep knowing your electrical panel decided to go full bonfire mode. That’ll wake you up quicker than coffee ever could.

So today turned into one of those all-hands-on-deck situations. Coordinating with the utility company, assessing the damage, making everything safe, and getting a plan in place to bring power back the right way.

Because when something like that happens, it’s not just about fixing it — it’s about doing it safely and making sure it doesn’t happen again.

The Smiling Electrician showed up ready — serious situation, but still bringing that calm, steady energy while handling business.

End of the day: emergency handled, customer taken care of, and everything moving in the right direction.

Took a service call out to a home right on the Potomac River today.

Beautiful view… but electrical issues don’t care about scenery.

We came out, diagnosed the problem, and got everything working the way it should. Clean, safe, and done right — just like always.

Stopped by for a service call to help a customer whose range igniter circuit wasn’t working.

Turns out it wasn’t wired properly, which is why it wasn’t doing its job. We tracked it down, corrected the wiring, and made sure everything was safe and working the way it should.

And just like that — problem solved.

Now she’s back in the kitchen doing what she loves most… preparing delicious meals for the family 😊

That’s what it’s all about. Fix the issue, make it safe, and help people get back to their everyday life.

Installed a manual transfer switch today for a battery backup system.

And yes… SMECO inspectors watching the whole time.

Now for most people, that’s the moment the pressure kicks in. Hands get a little stiff. Conversations get real short. Everybody suddenly double-checking things they already checked twice.

But not this crew.

The Smiling Electrician and the team? They’re over here doing clean work, staying on point… and having full conversations with the inspectors like it’s a family cookout.
