365 days. 3 states. 300+ projects. 160,000+ hours worked. 275,000 miles driven. Zero OSHA recordables. 👏

Today marks one full year without an OSHA-recordable incident for our Comstock crews across Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.

That’s a milestone we’re proud of—not just because of the number, but because of what it takes to get there. Day after day, job after job, our teams are planning ahead, speaking up and looking out for one another.

Because at the end of the day, the most important thing is that everyone goes home safe.

Here’s to 365 days—and keeping that momentum going. 👷‍♂️🦺

Thank you Sanford Clinic for trusting us with another one of your projects.

We’re excited for the update personally (since many of our staff work and live in Wahpeton) and professionally to bring better access to healthcare in smaller communities.

A hospital can’t just hit pause while construction happens. ⚡🏥

That was the challenge on a recent project for CHI Mercy Health in Valley City, ND: replace an aging emergency generator without interrupting power to the hospital.

Our team installed the new generator and carefully coordinated the switchover, keeping at least one generator connected and available for emergency backup throughout the process. Once the new system was up and running, the approximately 9,000-pound old generator could be carefully removed from inside the hospital.

The result? A successful transition with zero interruption to hospital operations.

It’s a smaller project with a pretty big impact—and a great example of the planning it takes to complete construction in an active healthcare environment without disrupting the people who depend on it.

Back to school looks a little different for students moving into the newly remodeled North Dakota State College of Science College Townhomes. 🏠📚

Over the summer, our Service team updated six units on the Wahpeton campus with more open layouts, new kitchens, flooring, lighting, drywall, paint and other improvements throughout.

Just in time for a new school year—and a fresh start for the students calling these spaces home.

✂️ A new chapter for healthcare in Hankinson!

We were proud to have joined the Hankinson community for yesterday’s ribbon cutting at the new Sanford Health Hankinson Clinic - Hankinson, ND.

Our team completed the interior remodel of the clinic space, helping transform the building into a place where area residents can access primary care, lab services, physical therapy and occupational therapy—close to home.

Projects like this matter because they ensure health services are easier to access for those in rural areas.

Congratulations to Sanford Health and everyone who helped bring this project across the finish line! 👏

Thanks to the Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce for a great day on the course yesterday!

Golf outings are always one of our team’s favorite ways to connect with local businesses, catch up with familiar faces, and support the community at the same time.

School is almost in session 🏫🍎📚

Our crew has been hard at work getting as many spaces up and running before the start of the coming school year at Waverly/South Shore Coyotes.

Keeping schools operational during construction is top priority on our projects. Some of the ways we do this are:

• We work backwards to preplan project milestones around school schedules
• We work through the summer months and holiday breaks to tackle more disruptive work
• We use STARC walls - the industry gold standard- to keep dust and noise to a minimum in construction zones
• We phase projects where possible, completing work entirely in one section before moving on to the next section so relocating staff or students is kept to a minimum

When fourth- and fifth-grade students return to class at Waverly/Shore School on Wednesday, August 26, they will be moving into newly constructed rooms.

Construction is expensive. But cutting costs in the wrong places can get even more expensive. 💵

Here are 5 things we think are worth the money on a commercial construction project:

1. Pre-Construction Services
The cheapest problem to fix is the one you catch before construction starts.

2. A Dedicated Superintendent
One person onsite everyday to keep all the project pieces aligned.

3. A Construction Company that can Self-Perform
More control, better quality, faster schedules, and fewer handoffs between contractors.

4. Open-Book Policy
No hidden surprises. Know exactly where your money is going so you can make informed decisions.

5. Phased Construction
Thoughtful phasing that minimizes disruptions so you can keep your business operating during construction.

The right planning, people, and communication can help prevent costly surprises, keep the project moving, and make construction a whole lot easier on your business.
