We're excited to share that Dan Sitorius has been named Transportation Department Leader, succeeding Mike Malone, who has transitioned into a new role as Principal, Transportation Market Strategy.

Over the past seven years, Mike has helped grow our transportation practice, expand client relationships, and build a strong team positioned for the future. In his new role, he'll continue doing what he does best: creating opportunities, building connections, and helping grow our transportation presence across the region.

Dan steps into the department leadership role after years of helping shape the team's success through project leadership, operational excellence, and a genuine commitment to the people around him.

We're grateful for Mike's leadership and are looking forward to seeing Dan lead the next chapter of our Transportation Department.

Ryan joined JEO in 2024 and has helped grow our architecture practice while leading projects that serve communities across Nebraska and the Midwest. A graduate of the UNL - College of Architecture, he is passionate about creating places that bring people together and improve quality of life.

Ryan's recognition reflects not only his design talent, but also his commitment to the communities, clients, and teammates he serves every day.

The people who walk, bike, drive, and travel through a community every day have an important perspective on transportation safety.

Crash data can show where safety concerns exist, but residents and community leaders can help identify the experiences behind the data—from an intersection that feels difficult to navigate to a crossing where people don’t feel comfortable.

Our team worked with El Dorado, Kansas; Sturgis, South Dakota; and Gering, Nebraska, to bring data and community input together through Safety Action Plans. Each community had different needs, challenges, and priorities, which shaped our approach to the transportation safety solutions.

In our latest thought leadership article, we take a closer look at how we partnered with these communities to identify their safety concerns, engaged community members in the conversation and developed practical strategies for making improvements over time.

A bakery can be a quick stop. It can also be a place to slow down and stay for a while.

When Le Quartier Bakery & Café opened its second Lincoln location, the goal was to create more room for both.

The new bakery and café gives customers space to enjoy Le Quartier's artisan breads, pastries, breakfast, and lunch, while also creating a comfortable place to meet, work, relax, and connect. Our team helped bring that vision to life through a design that balances the pace of a busy bakery with the slower moments that happen around the table.

As the sun sets on summer, we’re celebrating a project that opened this season at one of Nebraska’s most historic destinations.

The new Fort Robinson State Park Aquatic Facility gives visitors a new way to experience a place with generations of history.

The design takes inspiration from the park throughout the facility, with details including a stagecoach-inspired slide, horseshoe bubblers, equestrian-themed spray features, and a replica water tower. A 310-foot dual-track waterslide is built into the hillside, creating a feature unlike anything else at the park.

We worked with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to bring the project from concept to completion through aquatic design, architecture, engineering, planning and construction services.

Food. People. Love. ChefauChef has been serving the Lincoln community for years, and when the locally owned business needed room to grow, JEO was proud to help bring its new home to life.

From the commercial kitchen to the drive-through, tasting room and customer spaces, every part of the facility was designed around how the ChefauChef team works and serves its customers.

It was also a project built on a great relationship. ChefauChef has become part of the JEO family over the years, even catering some of our company events. We’ve enjoyed getting to know the people behind the business and seeing firsthand how much they care about their food, their customers and the Lincoln community.

You’ve heard the phrase “money down the drain.” In the City of Towanda, Kansas it was more like money into the ground.

The City’s aging water system began experiencing significant leaks, resulting in the substantial loss to this valuable community resource and financial impacts to the City.

For City Administrator Sarah Gooding, the difference wasn't just engineering expertise. It was having a team that acted as an extension of staff, helping navigate planning, funding, and the many challenges that come with aging infrastructure.
