Here are 3 tips to help you get a better finished result:

1️⃣ Plan beyond the demolition.
Measure your space, choose your materials, and write out the order of your work. Include time for drywall finishing, painting, and trim so you’re not rushing the details at the end. A little planning goes a long way.

2️⃣ Get the drywall ready before opening the paint.
Let the joint compound dry as directed before sanding. Smooth out ridges, remove the dust, and prime new drywall before painting. The prep work matters just as much as the paint color. You don't want seems showing through the paint!

3️⃣ Test your wood stain first.
Before staining trim or beams, try it on an offcut from the wood you’re using or a hidden spot. The same stain can look different from one board to another. A small test can save a lot of rework. This will save you time and headaches.

Hanging drywall for the first time? Save yourself some extra work. 🔨

At Triple RRR Drywall, our family’s work includes hanging sheetrock, repairing walls, and matching existing texture. A good finish starts before the tape and mud ever come out.

Here are 3 beginner tips worth slowing down for:

1️⃣ CHECK YOUR FRAMING FIRST.
Before covering the wall, check that the studs are straight and lined up. Uneven framing can leave you with a wavy wall. Take care of it while everything is still exposed.

2️⃣ DON’T BURY YOUR SCREWS.
Set the screw head just below the drywall surface without tearing the paper. If it breaks through, you’ve driven it too deep. Take your time and control the pressure on your drill.

3️⃣ DON’T FORCE THE SHEETS TOGETHER.
Measure carefully and let the edges meet without cramming them tight. Forcing a sheet into place can contribute to a raised seam that shows after painting. Trim it to fit.

A little patience while hanging can save you a lot of frustration when it’s time to finish.
