FALL, IN TEXTURE. 🍂 There’s something about fall that makes us want to bring warmth, texture, and a little more richness into our interiors. For this season’s mood board, R2Interiors collaborated with Shamrock Textiles to explore the colors, patterns, and tactile materials that capture the feeling of fall. Think warm neutrals, earthy tones, layered textures, subtle patterns, and materials that invite you to settle in.

A successful interior isn’t just about how it looks—it’s about how it feels. Thank you to Erica Shamrock Textiles for collaborating with us and helping bring this seasonal palette to life. We love what happens when great materials meet thoughtful design.

Welcome back, Ryan MacMurray! Ryan has spent the past three summers as an architectural intern at R2Architects, giving our team the opportunity to watch him grow both professionally and creatively. After earning his Master’s degree in Architecture, transitioning into a full-time role at R2A as an Architectural Designer was a natural and seamless next step.

Some places are more than a project. They become part of the memories of a place and the people who experienced them. After years of unforgettable nights, incredible performances, and countless memories, The Hook at Caesars Atlantic City has officially closed its doors. For R2Architects, The Hook will always be more than a project—it was a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience that challenged us creatively and became part of the Atlantic City story.

As the architect behind the space, we were honored to help bring this unique venue to life within the historic Warner Theatre, originally opened in 1929. Now, as the curtain falls, we're taking a moment to remember the design, the performances, the people, and all the unforgettable moments that happened within its walls. Here's to the memories and to a memorable chapter in Atlantic City history.

🎉 8 Years of Derby City Gaming & Hotel - Three phases. Two expansions. One incredible success story.

Eight years ago this September, Derby City Gaming opened its doors — and what started as an 80,000 SF gaming destination has grown into a 215,000+ SF destination with gaming, hospitality, dining and entertainment. For R2Architects + R2Interiors, this project is a BIG story.

Phase I | 2018 - Derby City Gaming opened with an 80,000 SF gaming experience, featuring a vibrant center bar and dynamic quick-serve dining. Phase II | 2020 - Just two years later, the property expanded with an outdoor smoking gaming parlor, continuing the evolution of the guest experience. Phase III | 2023 - Being part of a project that has continued to grow, evolve and respond to its guests is something we're especially proud of. It also represents the kind of long-term partnership we value — designing alongside a client as their needs, opportunities and ambitions continue to evolve.

Congratulations to our long-term client, Churchill Downs Incorporated, on the continued success of Derby City Gaming & Hotel. We’re proud to have been part of the journey. Cheers to eight years — and to what comes next!

Over the past 20 years, we have created and designed signature brand standards for four (4) major healthcare systems in the Tri-State area. For Unite Here Health in Atlantic City, R2Interiors developed the Interior Finish Design Standards to create a fresh, cohesive environment that reflects the character of the community while supporting the needs of a modern outpatient healthcare facility.

Our inspiration came from right outside the door: the Atlantic City coastline. The natural palette and textures of sand and sea became the foundation for the design—creating an environment that feels calm, contemporary, welcoming, and connected to place. But great design standards go beyond aesthetics. Our approach was developed to:
• Create a consistent design language throughout the facility
• Enhance the patient experience
• Support staff through thoughtful, functional environments
• Strengthen and complement the brand
• Establish durable, maintainable finish selections
• Streamline future renovations and fit-outs
• Provide greater consistency and efficiency in procurement

From flooring and wall finishes to millwork, ceilings, and architectural details, every selection was considered as part of a larger design story. The result is a finish palette that brings the spirit of the Atlantic City shoreline indoors—while creating a flexible standard that can evolve with the facility for years to come.

The countdown continues for the opening of Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa —and today, we’re turning our attention to our latest mood board for the Center Bar —Chapter 4.

Our latest mood board explores the energy, movement, and magnetism of the Center Bar—designed as a true focal point that draws guests in from every angle. Layered lighting, rich materials, and bold contrasts create an atmosphere that feels both elevated and electric.

This is where circulation meets experience—where sightlines, social interaction, and ambiance all converge to keep the energy flowing. Stay tuned for the final chapter of bringing Cedar Crossing to life with P2E.

🎉 We’re proud to celebrate the 2-year anniversary of multiple transformative projects at Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional—enhancing care, efficiency, and patient experience across the campus.

The 15,000 SF Radiology & Imaging Department—delivers state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional services with upgraded MRI, CT, ultrasound, X-ray, and specialized procedure suites, along with improved patient access and flow.

In tandem, the expanded +/-19,000 SF Emergency Department renovation elevates critical care with new patient bays, enhanced triage and check-in, a negative pressure suite, and dedicated in-department radiology (CT, X-ray, Ultrasound) to significantly reduce wait times and improve outcomes.
