From Concrete Slab to Backyard Showpiece!

This project came with a unique challenge. The existing concrete pad sat very close to the sliding door threshold, leaving us with minimal clearance to work with. Instead of tearing out a massive concrete slab, we engineered a custom sleeper framing system directly over the concrete to maximize height while maintaining proper drainage and functionality.

What was once an old, weathered concrete pad is now a beautiful, low-maintenance composite deck complete with premium railing and post cap lighting. The result is a space that’s not only visually stunning but also built for years of family gatherings, relaxation, and memories.

Sometimes the toughest projects create the best transformations.

We recently wrapped up this elevated deck rebuild in McHenry, and the difference speaks for itself.

This project included a complete tear-out and rebuild with new footings, 6x6 posts, framing, stairs, railings, and decking—bringing everything up to current code standards while giving the homeowners a safe, beautiful outdoor space they can enjoy for years to come.
