Honoring The Brave: 82nd Anniversary of D-Day

On this day 82 years ago, more than 150,000 Allied troops, primarily of American, British, and Canadian origins, landed on the beaches of Normandy, France and launched a historic breach that led to the liberation of Western Europe.
At Eastern Coast Construction, we honor the many brave soldiers who fought and gave their lives for the pursuit of freedom. The sacrifices of those fearless souls have never been forgotten, and their impact on mankind cannot be understated.
As an organization, we take immense pride in the work we complete for various branches of the military. We wouldn’t be where we are without our troops!

Project Complete | Fairfield Inn by Marriott – Nags Head, NC We are thrilled to announce that our work on the Fairfield Inn by Marriott in beautiful Nags Head is officially complete!

Our team successfully delivered the comprehensive rough carpentry, roofing, and siding packages for both the main hotel structure and the porte cochere. Through careful coordination and hard work, we've provided a seamless, high-quality exterior envelope built to last on the coast.

Project Highlights Included:

- Full Division 6 rough carpentry & engineered wood systems

- Precision truss design, installation, and connection hardware

- Complete roofing and siding systems

- Flawless installation of windows, flashing, and sealants for a weather-tight finish

- Attic catwalks and roof access hatches focused on safety and accessibility

From day one to project completion, our focus has been on durability, safety, and excellence. We are incredibly proud to hand over a structurally sound, energy-efficient building shell that will serve as the foundation for an exceptional hospitality experience for years to come.

Eastern Coast Construction is proud to announce our latest project with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic: a $22.7 million Design-Build demolition and site restoration of Building 195 at America’s oldest shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY).

Awarded through our joint venture with Saw Construction, this project will remove a historic industrial facility originally constructed in 1920, with additions in 1975, 1985, and 1987. Building 195 was a 26,400-square-foot high-bay facility that once served as the shipyard’s main plating shop and supported operations such as glass grinding, buffing, galvanizing, and coal storage before being abandoned in the late 1990s.

The SEJV team will demolish all structures above and below grade, including slabs, grade beams, pile caps, piles, mezzanines, pits, asphalt and concrete surfaces, pollution control systems, and associated above- and underground storage tanks. Throughout the demolition process, existing underground steam lines will remain active and protected.

Once complete, the site will be restored and paved with asphalt, preparing it for future use by Norfolk Naval Shipyard in continued support of the warfighter.

For Alyse, construction is more than a profession—it's a lifelong passion. In her own words: “Life has a special way of coming full circle. My father was a builder, and I am proud to continue the tradition and build for those who serve.” Beyond delivering top-tier federal, commercial, and multi-family projects, Alyse is deeply invested in the local Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads communities. From championing local workforce development and mentoring the next generation of builders to supporting local outreach initiatives, she is dedicated to making a positive impact both on and off the job site.

From the precise assembly of structural components to the coordinated movement of materials on a busy site, our crew demonstrates expertise and attention to detail every single day. We want to publicly thank our team for their thoughtful and thorough work—it’s their craftsmanship that turns blueprints into reality.

But expertise means nothing without safety. As you can see, whether we are operating heavy machinery or managing ground logistics, safety is the priority. We facilitate this by ensuring every team member is equipped with the right PPE, proper training, and a clear communication plan before the work begins.

🚀 Eastern Coast Construction Awarded Project at NASA Langley Research Center!
We are thrilled to announce our latest project award at the historic Building 1244. Eastern Coast Construction has been selected to revitalize the South Hangar doors at this National Historical Landmark.

We are "bringing history back to life." Our team will be removing lead paint, recoating the massive structure, and prepping the facility to become the new home for NASA’s B777 aircraft.

The Scope:

- Re-coating main and tail hangar doors, window sashes, and mullions (approx. 7,200 SF).
- Replacing 9,700 LF of glazing putty.
- Restoring the iconic NASA logo to its original glory.

Building 1244 is steeped in history—it housed the Rendezvous and Docking Simulator used for the Gemini and Apollo programs. We are honored to preserve this legacy while preparing it for the future of aviation.

💥 Project Spotlight | JEB Little Creek–Fort Story 💥

What goes up must sometimes come down and demolition is just as essential to construction as building something new. At Eastern Coast Construction, we’re proud to partner with trusted sub-contractor teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality results at every stage of a project.

Together, we completed the 728 A-F MCSCG Trailers project at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek–Fort Story, covering 1.2 acres of demolition and restoration. The scope included developing the Virginia DEQ permit set, cutting, capping, and demolishing active water, electrical, and storm sewer systems, as well as removing and disposing of six 3,500 SF temporary facilities. Civil work wrapped up with 200 cubic yards of fill, grading for positive drainage, and seeding for permanent turf.
