Exterior seals last 50 years on average. The bottom seal of the CRAWL SPACE less than 10?! Modern crawl space wet floodproofing solutions fail due to a lack of understanding of the dynamics involved. Unmanaged GROUNDWATER INTRUSIONS are causing most of the damage. What the industry is selling as "high Virginia Relative humidity" is actually 'atmospheric v***r saturation' caused by trapped groundwater. GWIs and plumbing leaks in the crawl space are most of the issue not exterior relative humidity... usually. Just remember air does NOT produce v***r it holds it or releases it and depending on v***r supply, temperature & pressures determines what the RH is.

Air in the crawl space does not create moisture, it holds it or releases it. If the relative humidity in your crawl space is higher than it is outside consider theses sources. Although the %s may be objective the ways in which it gets in is not.
