Meet the Team Behind Sunscape Land Works 🌿

Hampton Roads — I’m Josh Mathias, and this is my father, Larry Mathias. He founded Sunscape Land Works in 1998, and today we operate it together alongside a dedicated, hardworking crew that takes pride in doing things the right way.

I was born and raised in Virginia Beach. What started as a summer job between school years—working alongside my father—has grown into a full-scale landscape construction and maintenance company serving Virginia Beach and the surrounding areas.

I’ve always been drawn to creating — building, fixing, improving. That mindset drives everything we do: delivering clean, functional, and high-quality outdoor spaces that are built to last.

Our early days weren’t glamorous — taking on whatever work we could, learning fast, and earning trust one job at a time. That same work ethic still defines us today.
