Just finished modifying and installing lighting for one of our favorite customers. We appreciate that folks want to use vintage lighting pieces and sometimes we can help make that a reality. In this case, the customer needed wiring modified with plugs vs. hard-wired to the ceiling. We can’t make every piece work but do our best to accommodate. These pieces came from Red Barn at Griff Run in Viola.

Meter monitoring update #5: Last October we installed a Leviton meter to the panel that feeds our farm - an upgrade to what we were previously using to track how much power we are using at our farm and whether our billing through our utility was correct. We now have several months of data from this meter which we purchased new from our electric supply house. Recent data from this meter shows that our usage is 30-50% less than what we were billed during the months we tested. This is consistent with tests run using other equipment in 2021.

We have now requested a live meter test through Chapman Metering out of Iowa. This test is paid for by us as homeowners at a cost of $300. The results are sent to our utility with the understanding that we will receive the results, also - which only makes sense to us as we are cooperative member owners of the REC.
