On 9-30-24 our office received a call for a wheel loader in a lake. We responded with our emergency response team. Arriving on scene just before dark we observed a wheel loader overturned onto its right hand side in the lake approximately 100 feet down the embankment with small trees and a 8 foot vertical shelf in the recovery path. Crews worked to contain any fluid spills While power line crews worked on the broken power pole that had been snapped do to the loaders down hill journey. With everything secured and the plan set for the following morning our crews returned to the office to prepare for the recovery. Our team contacted Kieth's for assistance with the recovery process. Our team responded with an emergency response trailer and a small boat for boom deployment and maintenance. The recovery crew rigged the heavy recovery units to the loader and started the uprighting process. Once on its wheels the unit was pulled up onto the bank and straightened out to line up with the cleared path a retaining bar was installed to prevent unwanted movement of the loaders pivoting steering. Once retrieved to the hilltop job pad the loader was quickly inspected for leaks and spills and than moved to a staging area to await further repairs. Thanks to all involved.
