Custom Jumps by Mike Schooling Standards
Having evaluated the various designs available I have tried to come up with a schooling standard that is rigid, stable and of high quality.

Utilizing a cross base design with a double layer of 2x4’s provides a uniform ground contact that will not flex. The 4x4 support pieces at 45 degrees to the base and post ensures that the post is rigidly fixed to the base and provides vertical stability. Also, the use of these support materials at the base of the post result in a much lower center of gravity of the standard which increases the ove

rall stability. Event Standards
Using a similar design philosophy our event standards have increased support (an additional 2 pieces of 2x4 at the base of the jump. This makes the jump more rigid and stable. Quality
We use pressure treated wood in the construction of the jumps and all of the joints use pre-drilled screws to minimize cracking of the wood. All of the wood is primed and receives a minimum of 2 coats of the exterior finish paint. Our goal is not to build the Cadillac of jumps but to provide something that is very functional, of high quality that will last.

Thank you everyone for showing your support to Custom Jumps by Mike. You will probably talk to me if you message him, as he hasn't quite got into Facebook yet! However, I think after a while he will decide it is good to answer messages himself! The jumps really are nice and he believes in making things to last! He looks for a new design every day, so don't be surprised if you see his version of the Olympic jumps, stadium and Cross Country, in the near future! If you would like to come and see the jumps and inspect the quality, you are more than welcome to visit!
