Backyard Gardening With Sam 🌱 Hi, I’m Samantha! Welcome to my garden, where I share my journey growing fruits, veggies, herbs, and flowers.

I’m learning as I go, celebrating every harvest, and hoping to inspire others to grow with me! 💚

Gardening makes me think about how we treat people. 🌱💚 When a plant struggles, we check what it needs—water, sunlight, better soil, or a little more time. We understand that what we see on the surface doesn’t tell us everything happening at the roots.

I wish we gave people that same patience and care. You never know what someone is going through or how deeply your words might hurt them. A little empathy can go a long way.

Be gentle with your plants, and be gentle with people. We’re all growing through something. 🌻✨

Apparently my personality comes with a watermelon sidekick! 😂🍉🤠 Meet Melon Mischief—a little sweet, a little sassy, and ready to take over the garden with me! 🌱💚

I asked ChatGPT to turn me into a cartoon and create a mascot based on my personality… and honestly, the tiny cowboy hat has me sold! 🤣

“Wild vines. Main character energy.” Sounds about right because both me and my watermelon plants like doing our own thing! 😂✨

Watermelon plant update! 🍉🌱 I left the roots in the ground after cutting the plant down, and now it has grown all this beautiful new growth!

Let’s see how many watermelons we can find hiding in this wild watermelon flower bed! 👀🍉

I’ll always say that I have better success growing watermelons on the ground than on a trellis—but that’s just my opinion! I love a trellis because you can control the vines more. On the ground, you just let them grow wild! 😂🌿

How many can you spot?

🍉 Update on our current watermelon! It’s growing more and more each day, and I’m so excited to see how big it gets! After thinking my watermelon season was over, this little surprise showed up. Fingers crossed it continues growing healthy and strong! 💚🌱

Plus, here’s a little sneak peek at our mini sugar pumpkin plant that’s currently growing! 🎃 I can’t wait to see what it produces!

I decided to cut my watermelon plant all the way down to the ground, but I left part of it rooted—and look what happened! New growth started coming in, and now the plant is spreading again, looking healthy and bright green. 🌱🍉

While I was cutting the grass, I came across a little surprise… I spy a watermelon! 👀🍉 Can you find where it’s hiding?!

More watermelon content coming soon ! 🔜

Taking down our watermelon vine from the trellis and making room for fall planting! 🍉🌱🍂 But this little watermelon had been hanging on for dear life the past couple of days like, “Wait, I’m not done yet!” 😂

It was looking a little funny-shaped, so we decided to go ahead and cut into it. Let’s see what we’re working with! 👀🔪🍉 And don’t worry—nothing went to waste in this household! ♻️💚
