Happy World Beard Day! 🧔😂

We spend a lot of time talking about buildings around here…

But today, we're giving the beards their moment.

From full lumberjack to just a little scruff to clean-shaven and refusing to participate 😂 — MSI has a little bit of everything.

We're pretty sure there's a direct correlation between beard length and construction knowledge…

We're still waiting on the scientific research to confirm. 🤣

FROM PLAN TO REALITY

It starts with a few lines on paper.

A floor plan.
A few ideas.
Maybe a sketch on the back of a napkin. 😂

Then those ideas start taking shape.

Walls go up.
The roof comes together.
The details start appearing.

And eventually, something that once existed only in someone's imagination becomes a real place they can walk into.

That's one of our favorite parts of what we do.

Watching an idea become real. ❤️

DON'T PICK YOUR FLOOR PLAN BEFORE YOU PICK YOUR PROPERTY.

It can be tempting to fall in love with a floor plan first—but your property can have a big impact on what you can build.

Things like:

The size and shape of your lot
Where the building will sit
Driveway access
Utilities
Septic requirements
Drainage and terrain
Setbacks and local requirements

…can all affect your building plans.

Our advice? Start with the property, then design the building around it.

A little planning before you start can save you a lot of headaches later. 😉

As MSI's Marketing Manager, she's the person behind the scenes helping tell the MSI story — from showcasing our projects and the people who build them to connecting with the people dreaming about their next building.

Her favorite part of the job?

Getting to see the incredible work our team does and finding new ways to share it with the world.

They're measured in the memories that will happen inside them.

The Saturday mornings in the shop.
The family dinners after a long day.
The projects that finally have room to happen.
The business that gets a place to grow.
The moments that weren't part of the original plans—but become the ones people remember most.

That's why we build.

A home designed around the way you really live.

Sometimes the best part of building is getting to create something that simply fits your life better.

At MSI, we love seeing an idea go from “Someday, I'd love to…” to “We actually built it.”

Some weeks you build exactly what was on the plans.

Other weeks…

You solve problems you didn't know existed.
You make decisions you didn't expect to make.
You change a few things along the way.
And somehow, you still end up with something you're proud of.

That's construction.

It's not always perfectly predictable.

But the goal is always the same: build it right and never sacrifice the QUALITY!

From the first conversation about an idea to the final walk-through, there are a lot of people behind every MSI project.

People asking questions.

Thinking about building? Here's one thing we always recommend:

Start with the big picture before you start picking out the little details.

Before choosing paint colors, countertops or light fixtures, make sure you have a solid plan for the things that matter most — your layout, how you'll use the space, your budget, your property and what you want the building to accomplish.

The pretty stuff comes later. 😉

A little planning upfront can save a lot of headaches down the road.
