🚜 TURNING RAW LAND INTO A BUILD-READY HOUSE PAD | MIDLOTHIAN, TEXAS

This Midlothian, TX project was a great example of why proper site planning and grading matter.

This was a complete cut-and-fill house pad. We reshaped the entire lot by cutting into the existing slope and using that material to build up the lower side of the property. The best part? We were able to use the material already on-site, meaning we didn’t have to import additional dirt.

That saved the customer material costs, trucking costs, and unnecessary time moving dirt on and off the property.

For a pad like this, there’s a lot more precision and attention to detail involved than simply moving dirt ✍️

This was a 5’ cut and fill for a massive barndominium. We moisture conditioned and compacted each lift, finished the pad with 8” of select fill, and cut in proper drainage around the pad.

Every part of the process had to be precise to get this pad built right💪

🚨 This detention pond wasn’t doing its job anymore. Here’s how we fixed it.

A neglected detention pond in Flower Mound had become overgrown, washed out, and was holding water instead of moving it. Our crew cleared 23 trees and stumps, removed over 80 cubic yards of brush and overgrowth, regraded the entire pond, and used GPS laser grading to cut a new flow line for proper drainage. We also installed riprap rock around the culvert outlets to help prevent future erosion and protect the drainage system.

Projects like this are about more than making a property look better. They restore proper drainage, improve stormwater flow, and help prevent costly erosion.

Building an engineered gravel driveway isn’t as simple as dumping rock 👇

This one was built to engineered specifications for a future animal habitat. We excavated 12 inches of unsuitable material, compacted the subgrade, installed geotextile fabric with 18-inch overlaps, then placed crushed concrete road base in 4-inch lifts. Each lift was watered and vibratory compacted before the next, and we finished it with a 2% crown for proper drainage.

It’s not every day we get to build an engineered driveway, but when we do, we build it to last. 💪

🌧️ 30 Years of Erosion Fixed the Right Way

This project involved rebuilding a pond overflow spillway system that carries excess water from the pond and directs it into a nearby creek through a culvert 👇

Over time erosion allowed water to get underneath a 30+ year old steel culvert which eventually caused a 4 foot washout and compromised the spillway ❌

We fully excavated the failed area and removed the existing pipe. From there we rebuilt it the right way starting with a properly compacted subgrade and installing crushed concrete road base below and around the entire culvert. This creates a solid locked in foundation that helps prevent movement settling and future washouts 💪

We installed a larger 40 foot ADS culvert to improve flow capacity during heavy rainfall and ensure the overflow water is safely carried from the pond into the creek as designed.

Everything was backfilled and compacted in lifts then the entire spillway was regraded to restore proper drainage and long term stability 🚀

Built to handle heavy flow and prevent future erosion done the right way so it lasts!

First time using the power rake (harley rake). I see videos of them all the time and they look super cool but actually using it first hand was awesome! It has some pretty cool capabilities. Lethal tool for redoing driveways and final grading🏌️

Before you spend $10,000+ on new gravel… read this. 👀

This client’s parking lot was overgrown, uneven, and honestly looked like it needed all new rock. Their main goal was simple: make it look clean and professional again without spending a fortune hauling in tons of new gravel. 💰

Instead of recommending a complete replacement, we used a power rake attachment. It’s a high-speed drum with heavy teeth that tears through the surface and pulls buried gravel back up from the ground. 🔥

Over time, gravel parking lots and driveways start sinking into the soil, getting packed down, covered with weeds, and pushed off to the sides. Most people think the gravel is “gone” when really… it’s still there.

By power raking the entire lot, we:
✔️ Pulled buried gravel back to the surface
✔️ Removed weeds and grass growth
✔️ Re-leveled the parking lot
✔️ Cleaned up the edges
✔️ Restored the appearance without importing material

The result? 👇

A parking lot that looks almost brand new without the massive price tag of a full replacement. 🤝

Not every gravel lot can be saved this way, but you’d be surprised how many can.

POV: You’re working a job and the neighbor hires you before you even finish 🤝

The best advertising in this business isn’t billboards or ads… it’s quality work people can SEE. While repairing this pond spillway and rebuilding the berm in Mansfield, a neighbor drove by, saw the work we were doing, and asked us to redo his sand volleyball court too.
