Nice little project that we've been working on for the last 5 days and completed this morning.
It's obviously not finished yet as I'm waiting on Westendorf to come in and put the rubber roof on and then the homeowner is going to finish up the ceiling. All I need to do is button up the facia work after the roof is complete.
It's a picture framed 20' x 22' deck with two staircases and a complete roof system. It also sports black painted galvanized hog panels as spindles for handrail. Which really sets this project off.
Next on the agenda will be a "quilt room." I'll explain that as the project progresses.

I totally forgot to post this exterior remodel that was completed last week.
We totally stripped this project down to the bare walls, siding, soffit, fascia, gutter, exterior doors, screened in porch were all removed.
Then we installed new everything and also completed a small back porch deck with roof structure and closed in the screened-in porch complete with windows for more living space.
Really nice little project. Took longer than normal but we started this when we had that extreme heat and humidity 2 weeks ago.

On the 2nd hottest day of the year thus far it sure is nice to be done by noon. 😁😆

Today was actually quite easy though. 😊😊😊

I donated my time and equipment and with the help of some fine street department employees we finished getting the military flag poles set at the Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Vandalia. They were short a POW/MIA and Space Force flagpole. But not anymore. 😊😊

Back to the real grind tomorrow when it's even hotter. Ugh..........

Concrete???
Yeah we still do it. Lol
This one was 160' of 5 wide' sidewalk and a 10' x 4' retaining wall extension. We pulled this off in 3 1/2 days in between rains and storms. Inside a chain link fence with just a small opening meant this had a lot of hand work.

It doesn't happen very often, taking on small projects versus big. But this could be the beginning of a change. 😊😊

This was a nice little 10' x 30' deck and 4' x 10' walkway that we finished in the last two and a half days. All screwed together with only nails at the spindles. All the framing material is 2x10's. This deck won't be going anywhere or have any bounce/sag to it in the foreseeable future. It's built to last.

I'm finding out I really, really enjoy these short 3 or 4 day work weeks. 🤣😂

I think ill do it again next week. 🤣😂

I just cannot be happier with how this project turned out !!!

1) New siding. Going from yellow to spring meadow green. Quite the difference and a fantastic choice. On a side note I've been doing this for almost 40 years and this is the first green siding that I have ever put on. 😄😄
2) New deck railing.
3) New garage walk door install that was never there before.
4) New lattice under deck.
6) New roof flashing to repair leaks.
7) New lights.

But to me number 8 is the star of the show.
Check out those stone and concrete columns !!!!
These are definitely on my list for my place whenever I get a chance to tackle it. They're pricy for sure but well worth it.
They are just gorgeous and vert stately !!!!

That's a wrap on my portion of this stunning Lester Building Systems, LLC 42' x 110' x 10' horse stable.
Was it a challenge with just basically one helper most days?
You bet it was. 😆
But check out how it looks. Especially that gorgeous T&G 2x8 stacked interior with the black powder coated hardware.
This is set up with 20 individual horse stalls all with sliding lockable doors.
I'm beyond impressed with how this entire project turned out.
The fair board made some fantastic choices on this project.
I still have a couple days up here next week reskining and repairing a side of an existing stable but I can't start that till Monday.
