Why do we still recommend an in-person roofing estimate in 2026?

Because replacing a roof is about a lot more than a satellite estimate or drone photos.

When we come out, we can actually look at the condition of the roof, flashing, valleys, pe*******ons, gutters and ventilation. We can get a much more accurate understanding of what the project will actually require, which means fewer surprises once the old roof comes off.

We also inspect the attic when accessible. That's something you simply can't do from a drone. An attic inspection can reveal inadequate ventilation, moisture, staining, previous leaks, insulation issues and other problems that can affect the performance and lifespan of a new roof.

And just as importantly, we can sit down with you and go through your options. We offer different roofing packages and can explain what you're getting at each level, which upgrades are worth considering and where you may not need to spend the extra money.

Want better ventilation? We can actually look at what your home has now and determine what makes sense rather than just checking a box on an estimate.

Technology has come a long way and we use satellite imagery, drones and digital measurements too. They're great tools. But they should complement an inspection, not replace one.

A roof is a major investment. We believe you should have a real person look at it, explain what they found and give you an accurate estimate based on the actual condition of your home.

That's why, even in 2026, we still believe in doing things the old fashioned way when it matters.

Roof Replacement Project Highlight | Felida, WA

Another Felida job ☺️

This was more than just replacing shingles. We installed a complete roofing and gutter system designed to protect this home for years to come.
The old failing roof was removed and replaced with a premium Malarkey Legacy Scotchgard Midnight Black shingle, providing a beautiful upgraded appearance along with enhanced durability and algae resistance.

During this project, we focused on the details that make a roofing system perform long term:

• Replaced rotten OSB decking with quality CDX plywood where needed to provide a stronger foundation
• Installed Ultimate Silicone Boots for improved protection around pipe pe*******ons and vulnerable areas
• Applied Arctic Seal along the entire perimeter, valleys, and around all pe*******on points to create a more weather-resistant barrier
• Used hot dipped ring shank nails for increased holding power and long-term fastening performance
• Upgraded ventilation with metal box vents and edge vents to improve airflow, help regulate attic temperatures, and extend roof life
We also upgraded the gutter system to improve water management and protect the exterior of the home:
• Installed 6K seamless gutters for increased water capacity
• Added oversized downspouts to handle heavy Pacific Northwest rainfall
• Properly routed second-story downspouts into the first-story gutter system to prevent water streaking, staining, and premature wear on siding and landscaping
• Installed Premier gutter guards to help reduce maintenance and keep debris from clogging the system

Every component of this project was selected to improve durability, performance, and long-term protection for this Felida homeowner.
