Premier Key Terms ✨

Today’s Premier Key Term is - Billbug! It is a continuation of our FAQ about Grubbs!
Billbugs are another common lawn pest, similar to chinch bugs! They damage your grass in a different, yet sneaky way!

You might notice these in areas that don’t green back up even after watering.

Some signs to look for 🪧
-Brown thinning patches (often mistaken for drought)
-Grass that pulls up easily
-Sawdust like material near the base of the grass

Small Lawn Habits. Big Impact🌱🌎

This Earth Day, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference—starting right in your own yard.

🌱Mow at the proper height
💦Water early in the morning
❌Avoid over-fertilizing
👍🏻Leave grass clippings to naturally feed your lawn

Healthy lawn habits don’t just improve your curb appeal—they help support a healthier environment, too.

Premier Key Terms ✨

On Friday we touched on chinch bugs when we touched on grubbs but WHAT are they?

Chinch bugs are small insects (about 1/5 inch long) that live in your lawn and suck the sap out of grass blades.

What do they do?
-Cause yellow or brown patches that look like drought stress
-Damage usually shows up in sunny areas first
-Grass won’t bounce back even after watering
👉 A tale sign: it looks like your lawn just needs water… but it keeps getting worse.

They look like:
-Black bodies with white wings (adults)
-Young ones are smaller and reddish/orange
-Tend to hide down near the soil/thatch layer
Why it matters:
If left untreated, chinch bugs can spread quickly and wipe out sections of your lawn.

Chinch bugs are tiny pests that drain the life out of your grass. They feed on your lawn and leave behind brown, dead patches that watering alone won’t fix. Easy to mistaken for Grubbs!

Happy Friday! ☀️ We have another GREAT frequently asked question on Grubbs!
