There are days I look around at everything God has blessed me with and wonder how I got here.
Not because it’s been easy. Quite the opposite.
There have been nights I laid awake wondering how I was going to make it all work. Days I questioned whether I was doing enough as a husband, a father, a leader, and a man of God. Moments when the weight of everyone depending on me felt heavier than I ever wanted to admit.
I’ve missed moments with my family that I’ll never get back. I’ve sacrificed sleep, peace, and time chasing a vision that sometimes only I could see.
And somewhere along the way, I’ve realized that the things I’m working so hard to provide for are the very things I never want to lose sight of.
My wife deserves the best version of me. My boys deserve a father they remember being present, not just one who worked hard. The men who look to me for leadership deserve someone who practices the values he talks about.
I don’t want to be remembered for how much money I made, how big of a company I built, or how many hours I worked.
I want my boys to grow up and say their dad loved their mom, kept his word, worked hard, loved Jesus, and never stopped showing up for them.
I want my wife to know that through every season, every struggle, and every victory, I’d choose her all over again.
And when my time here is finished, I hope the people whose paths crossed mine can say their lives were a little better because of it.
I’m far from the man I want to be. I fall short every single day. But I’m trying.
Because at the end of it all, none of this was ever supposed to be about building a name for myself.
It was about being faithful with the life God entrusted to me.
And I pray I never get so busy building a life that I forget to actually live it.
