After being an avid gardener my entire life, I decided in 2011 to pursue a degree in Landscape Design through Cuyahoga Community College, a NALP (National Association of Landscape Professionals) accredited school. I have been designing for clients over the past five years while also working as a Senior Horticulturist at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron, Ohio. Stan Hywet is the former home of F.A. Seiberling, founder of Goodyear Rubber and Tire and the historical gardens surrounding the mansion are some of the finest in this country. One of the many gardens that I cared for was the English Garden. This garden alone has more than 300 varieties of plants within its walls. In 2015, the perimeter of the English Garden was severely overgrown and in need of a new planting design. There was never an original design for the exterior of this garden, but through original letters from the property’s landscape architect, Warren Manning, I was able to create a new design to bring forth his vision for the perimeter of this garden. As well as landscape design, I will also be offering my services of horticultural plant care. That care includes the care of trees, perennials, and annuals; proper watering techniques; weeding, pruning, edging, and much more. I’m also a licensed pesticide applicator in Ohio. Now I will bring both my horticultural knowledge and design skills that I have acquired over the past five years to my clients and I feel that I am able to better meet their expectations whether in a design or within their own gardens. I currently use a CAD type of computer design software called DynaScape. With this program, I will be able to offer 3D views so the client will actually see how the finished landscape will look like. I look forward to helping you maximize the potential of your outdoor space and make your landscape dreams a reality.
