Today we are celebrating Kaylie Gallagher's last day with Showtime Homes.
Kaylie has been our Director of Marketing & Client Relationships and one of the people who helped shape how we show up for clients and the community. From social content and events to client literature and the extra details that make the experience feel like Showtime, she brought energy to our team. Kaylieā€™s whole family was integrated into the Showtime fabric, working with her brothers on vehicle purchases, and even building an unbelievable custom home with her mom Heather and her clients.

Matt brings 15 years of construction experience to the team and loves building cool stuff, especially custom homes and unique features. Outside of work, heā€™s a big sports guy who enjoys both watching and playing, especially slow-pitch softballšŸ„Ž. Heā€™s also a proud husband and dad to his 10-month-old daughter, along with being a pet dad to 2 dogs and a cat!

Donā€™t get us wrong, thereā€™s a place for both fixed-price and cost-plus contracts.

But for most homeowners, we believe fixed-price is the better approach. And hereā€™s why:

Youā€™ve probably heard the homebuilding horror stories: a homeowner is given a price at the beginning of a project, only to watch the cost of their home continue to climb throughout construction.

That can be a reality with a cost-plus contract.

Thereā€™s a common misconception that cost-plus automatically means youā€™ll save more money because youā€™re paying the ā€œactual costā€ of the work. While it can provide transparency into those costs, it also means the homeowner takes on the risk when those costs increase.

With a fixed-price contract, you agree on a price upfront based on a defined scope of work. If the cost of completing that agreed-upon work increases, the builder takes on that risk, not the homeowner.

Thatā€™s why we choose fixed-price for most of the homes we build.

For us, itā€™s about more than just a number. Itā€™s about cost certainty, accountability, and knowing where your investment stands from day one.

There are projects where a cost-plus structure can make sense, particularly when a project is exceptionally large or unique. But for most homeowners, we believe fixed-price offers the confidence and predictability they deserve. šŸ
