With daylight savings behind us, the season has officially shifted! To help you prepare for the colder days ahead, here are a few fall cleanup tips to keep your outdoor space looking fresh:
🌳 Tend to Trees and Shrubs – If you need more shade or drought-resistant plants, fall is perfect for planting! Trees and shrubs planted now get a head start with strong roots before summer heat returns.
🚫 Skip Fall Pruning – Avoid pruning this time of year, which can encourage growth just as plants are preparing to go dormant. Stick to removing dead or diseased branches and wait until winter for any major pruning.
🍃 Love Your Lawn – Rake up or mulch those leaves to protect your grass, aerate compacted soil for strong root growth, apply a winterizer for a lush spring, and overseed any bare patches.
🌱 Give Garden Beds Some TLC – Tidy up weeds, remove spent annuals, and add mulch as needed. Fall is also a great time to plant bulbs that’ll bloom beautifully in spring.
Get your yard ready for winter and beyond!
