PSA: If your boxwoods look like they're dying, it might be blight. 🛑

We just finished up at the Hinton residence where we had to tear out a bunch of boxwoods that were too far gone. While we were at it, we yanked out three invasive barberries that were taking over the space.

The new setup:
🌱 Inkberry Holly (Native, tough, and looks great)
🌸 Weigela in the back (Added this for a completely different texture and color pop)

What actually makes a great garden design? 🏡✨ While there is a lot to it, we always start with these 3 simple principles:

🌞 1. Site Conditions: You can’t fight nature! Always match your plants to your yard’s specific sun, soil, and drainage.
📐 2. Uniformity: This means creating a cohesive vibe (not a boring one!) by repeating certain plants or materials so the space feels connected.
🎨 3. Color & Texture: Combine different leaf shapes and color palettes to keep the garden visually exciting all year round, even when flowers aren’t blooming.

Of course, there’s much more to it (like scale and flow!), but nail these three and you’re halfway there. 🌱

Want to know if your soil is thriving? Look for earthworms! 🪱 It sounds funny, but their "p**p" (aka castings) is pure gold for your plants—packed with nutrients and beneficial bacteria. Healthy soil = happy plants! 🌱✨
