A recently completed project that involved the transformation of Waterworks’ existing Flatiron showroom, including the full renovation of the existing space and the addition of a newly renovated second floor. The design merges two full floors to create a unified showroom experience that highlights the character of the historic neo-Renaissance/modern French store-and-loft building.
At the heart of the renovation is a custom-designed cantilevered glass and steel staircase—a sculptural centerpiece of the first-floor retail space. Slightly offset from the wall, the staircase appears to float, enclosed by a continuous glass guardrail that seamlessly connects to the second-floor landing. Behind it, a striking 30-foot mural titled "Rainy Day in NYC" by Christoph Niemann anchors the space. Composed of over 3,000 tiles the mural pays tribute to the spirit and resilience of New York City.
