Bittersweet day as we celebrated Chris’s last day full time with us at Housh Homes, as he is embarking on a new job opportunity with the building inspection division with the city of Jacksonville! We are so excited for this opportunity for him and I’m grateful his experience here at Housh Homes helped prepare him for this new journey!

Chris has played a valuable roll in the growth of this company for the past 6 years! He’s had many different titles during his tenure here, but the most valuable one is “Friend!”

Chris will be very missed by the Housh Homes family, and by the clients we work(ed) for. It was a common thing to receive compliments and high praise from many of our clients over his 6 year tenure here. Everyone loves the kind hearted, hard working, humble, Chris Doty!

COMMUNICATION IS KEY! Therefore a well documented set of plans for each of your sub-trade contractors, is vital in ensuring a seamless process.

These notes shown on these plans are evidence of HOURS spent pouring over them to ensure nothing is missed.

On each job, there will be separate sets of plans specifically labeled for each contractor. This eliminates “most” excuses and helps keep everyone on the same page.

Many builders allow their architects to make all these notes, which has its benefits, but doing it myself forces me to LEARN the ins and outs of each job to help me answer questions on the fly, or easily spot when mistakes are made when doing a quick walkthrough.

SUPER EXCITED to share that we’ll be overseeing the installation of the new, and revolutionary TESLA SOLAR roofing system on one of our upcoming homes!
This system turns your ENTIRE roof into a solar panel. The textured glass shingles are incredibly durable and give a very unique tiled look.
The homeowners will be able to power their entire house with this system, even if the local power grid goes down.
Tesla will measure and cut these shingles/tiles to custom fit YOUR roof. Meaning this won’t happen tomorrow... but it will be worth the wait! Excited to bring you all along on this project!

The end of 2020 we made one of our biggest investment purchases. We purchased a brand new JCB 1CXT, tracked backhoe.

After reviewing the thousands and thousands of dollars we spent the previous year in “rental fees” we decided it was in our best interest in purchasing our own equipment for our general site work needs.

This one of kind piece of equipment is so incredibly versatile. JCB has basically combined a Skid Steer with a Mini Excavator. It’s compact design allows for tight maneuvering on small residential job sites. The range of attachments for this machine will allow for countless opportunities going forward. Looking forward to years of use!

Another happy 1CXT tracked backhoe customer!! 🤩 These units really are cool, and so versatile for a variety of applications. This one in particular is going to a local custom home builder in Callahan, FL –– H&S Construction! They fell in love with the 1CXT because of its diversity; this unit will take care of all their grading, trenching and material handling needs on the home sites they work on. No lack of light in this home! Clean, bright and elegant with white oak floors to warm it up. Leathered (brushed) granite to give a unique texture to the space. Bold black and white tile floors with clean chrome accents. Love how this home came together!

With some paint on theses posts and railings... these porches will be ready for rocking chairs and people to fill them!

So excited to take this from Concept to Reality! Few more weeks and we’ll be breaking ground on this looong awaited project! So many custom projects will be involved on this job. Custom sauna room, with adjacent game and workout rooms in garage, incredibly unique spiral staircase that will be the center piece of the living area, and even a hidden storage room under the kitchen accessible from a concealed access door built into the kitchen island!
Stay tuned for this one! It’s going to be fun!
