A quick before and after of a gravel driveway after a long winter. Shifted gravel, piles pushed to the edges, ruts and tire tracks.
A few hours of work for our team and it’s back in shape.

Tim Foerster was honored this week by the Patriots’ Path Council of Scouting America with the Good Scout Award, recognizing leadership, service, and commitment to the community.

For anyone who knows Tim, this will come as no surprise. He has always believed that a business should give back to the community it serves.

In addition to running Foerster Landscape, Tim has spent many years volunteering locally — supporting veterans, serving on Mendham’s Shade Tree Commission, contributing to Mansion in May, and helping care for the Mendham Veterans Garden, among many other efforts.

Gravel driveway looking a little rough after the snow? All that snow and plowing can move a lot of gravel around. Now that the snow is melting, it’s time to add some fresh stone and rake it back where it belongs.

Already thinking about spring plans: dinner outside, a hammock in the shade, and the fire pit going after dark.

Reminder about the importance of Fall Cleanups!

Autumn is a critical cleanup period for your yard and, unfortunately, one of the messiest. Besides the inevitable chore of raking leaves, there are a number of other tasks that should be done now if you want your yard to weather the winter in the best shape possible for the spring growing season:

🍁Growing plants should be pulled up as soon as they stop producing and added to the compost heap, but diseased plants should be bagged and discarded! This is to keep garden beds clear of dead plant material that might encourage pests and diseases to spend the winter with you and reappear in the spring. Plus, weeds should be pulled up before they drop their seeds to flare up again in the summer.

🍁Fall is a good time for pruning shrubs and trees since, when leaves have dropped, it is easier to judge the effect on the shape of the plant, When the weather warms up in the spring, fall pruning can help ensure vigorous new growth.

🍁This is an especially good time to prune maple trees since their sap wont run from cuts as in the spring. However, spring-flowering shrubs, such as forsythias, lilacs and rhododendrons, shouldn’t be pruned now because their flower buds are already set and pruning them now could severely reduce next spring’s bloom.

These are just a few of the things to consider in regard to fall cleanup of your yard. If you want you property to get in the best condition possible for winter and spring, but don’t have the time, energy or expertise, call Foerster Landscape! Our professionals will get rid of all the clutter and mess, and prepare you property for its best growing season ever.
