Some projects mean a little more than others, and this was one we’ll never forget.

An elderly gentleman had been drawing a hopscotch court in chalk on the sidewalk for over a year so children visiting Point Ruston or the retirement community could play while residents watched from their windows. Wanting to make it permanent, he stopped by Sherwin-Williams and asked if they knew a painter who might be willing to help.

Their answer was simple: “Call the guys at Superior Coatings NW.”

When we heard his story, there was no question. We wanted to be part of making his vision a reality. With paint generously donated by Casey Olsen at Tacoma Sherwin-Williams Commercial Paint Store , our team donated the labor to create a permanent hopscotch court for the residents, families, and children to enjoy for years to come.

Watching this small dream come to life was a reminder that the best projects aren’t always about buildings. Sometimes they’re about people. We’re honored to have played a small part in creating something that will continue bringing joy to the community for years to come. Extra thanks to Tyler and Robert for their work on this project as well. And finally Don “the geezer” for bringing this wonderful idea to life.
