Adding Some Color to This Home! 🌸🌿

We removed the old, dying hedges and completely refreshed these beds with over 130 bright, colorful perennials!

The large raised bed surrounding the driveway, along with the beds across the front of the home, were redesigned with a variety of perennials selected to provide color and blooms throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

As these plants mature and fill in, this property is only going to get better year after year.

Along the all way was left for the customer to enjoy some planting with some annuals, also space around the end of the driveway for annuals as well.

A huge transformation from the old hedges and a great way to bring some life and color back to this beautiful home.

Sorry we haven’t posted in a bit — we’ve been busy knocking out some great projects!

This one was a full front and back walkway renovation, replacing a layout that was over 20 years old. We lowered the raised patio areas, repurposed the existing granite into a new flower bed, re-graded the lawn for better drainage, and reworked the driveway to help prevent spring water buildup.

The new walkways were built with Techo-Bloc Blu 60 in Champlain Grey, bordered with 9” black cobble that also acts as the edge restraint.

One of the main features is a custom compass rose surrounded by 4” black cobble, along with plenty of curves throughout the design to give the project a much more finished look.

Another transformation complete in Waterville, Maine! 👊

This patio wasn’t just outdated—it was failing.

The original installation had improper pitch, causing water to collect beneath the deck, and the front entry had settled due to an inadequate base, creating a trip hazard and poor drainage.

We completely removed the existing patio, rebuilt the base correctly, and installed everything to proper grade for long-term performance.

Project highlights:
✔ Complete patio reconstruction
✔ Corrected drainage and pitch to eliminate standing water
✔ Rebuilt the front entry with a proper compacted base
✔ Removed the old dry-stack retaining stones
✔ Installed granite curbing to retain the stone base and create a cleaner transition around the steps
✔ Reused the existing granite steps with a new, stable landing

Techo-Bloc Blu 60 HD2 in Beige Crème
Villagio Onyx Black soldier course border
Also some flower bed transition steppers in rock garden brown.

Another custom hardscape project completed by NCL Landscaping!

This project took some creativity to tie everything together while working with the existing surroundings—and we’re proud of the finished result.

We installed Gagne Cobble Fieldstone & Granite Hill Blend pavers, complemented by the Redi-Rock 207 Novum retaining wall system, carefully designed to transition seamlessly into the existing stamped concrete retaining wall while still providing the structural support needed for the elevated patio.

To finish the project, we also raised the standby generator so it sits flush with the new patio elevation, creating a cleaner appearance and ensuring easy access for future maintenance.

Every project presents its own challenges, and finding solutions that are both structurally sound and visually appealing is what we enjoy most.

🏡 Before ➡️ After | Sheepscot Lake Camp Transformation 🌲

What started as a difficult-to-access camp with limited outdoor living space is now a functional, low-maintenance lakeside retreat built to last.

For this project, NCL Landscaping completed:
✅ Installed a Techo-Bloc EVA paver patio with Villagio Onyx black soldier coarse and walkway for safe, attractive access to the front entrance.
✅ Added a granite compass rose inlay as the centerpiece.
✅ Built a raised crushed stone fire pit area for gathering with family and friends.
✅ Created a second crushed stone sitting area overlooking Sheepscot Lake to take in the views.
✅ Replaced a failing dry-stacked retaining wall with a properly constructed retaining wall that will stand the test of time.
✅ Installed new perennial plantings to add color and soften the landscape.
✅ Expanded the driveway with crushed ledge pack, providing additional parking and improved access.
