JTA was called for a sweep and inspection of two wood burning fireplaces. After the sweep and inspection the customer stated they had been having a smoke back issue. When lighting and using their upstairs fireplace they would get smoke coming their downstairs fireplace on occasion. We installed a locking top mount damper and a new cap. The locking top damper will prevent smoke from going back down into their downstairs fireplace.

If your having smoke back issues or the current damper is hard to operate give us a call for an inspection!

We caught this rusting galvanized chase cover before it started staining the masonry work and replaced it with a custom made stainless steel chase cover. If your chimney is wrapped with siding and looks like it’s rusting, this is most likely your issue. Contact us for a quote if interested in replacing your chase cover!

Customers located in Union, Washington, St. Clair, and Beaufort our prices will start at $95 for an inspection or $150 for a Sweep and Inspection.

Customers located in Gerald, Rosebud, Owensville, Sullivan, Stanton, New Haven, Villa Ridge, Dutzow, Marthasville, and Pacific our prices will start at $110 for an inspection or $175 for a Sweep and inspection.

Currently accepting cash and checks upon payment.

During a chimney inspection many areas are checked. One of those areas is the inside of the flue itself. In these pictures you’ll see the inside of a clay flue tile chimney that has cracks and spots where the tile is broken out. This chimney would not pass inspection and need further attention.

JTA follows the guidelines of The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 211, which states,

Fireplaces, Chimneys, Flues and Venting Systems need to be inspected at least once a year for freedom from deposits, soundness and correct clearances. Maintenance, Repairs and Cleaning shall be done if necessary.
