🎉🚓 PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT – ENJOY THE PARADE SAFELY! 🚓🎉
The Umatilla County Fair Parade is one of Hermiston's favorite traditions, bringing together families, friends, and visitors from across the region for an evening of fun, excitement, and community pride.
Your Hermiston Police Department is excited to celebrate with you this Saturday, August 8th, and wants everyone to have a safe and memorable experience. As you find your spot along the parade route, please remember a few simple safety tips:
👨👩👧 Keep children close to you at all times. The excitement of candy, giveaways, and colorful parade entries can cause little ones to dart into the street before they realize the danger.
🍬 Wait for candy to come to you. Parade participants are encouraged to hand out treats from the curb whenever possible. Please resist the urge to run into the roadway, especially around large tractors, construction equipment, trucks, and trailers that have limited visibility.
🚧 Stay behind barricades and respect the parade route. This helps keep everyone safe while allowing the parade to continue smoothly.
👮 Follow the directions of police officers and parade volunteers. They're there to help ensure everyone enjoys a safe and successful event.
Let's make this year's Umatilla County Fair Parade another wonderful community tradition filled with smiles, great memories, and safe celebrations.
We look forward to seeing you at the parade!
Have fun, stay safe, and enjoy the fair! 🎡🎈
