A little reminder above the parking lot to pause and look up. 🌈

“I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.” Genesis 9:13 KJV

It’s easy to get caught up in the calls, the schedules, and everything that needs to get done. Then a view like this gives us a moment to stop and remember His faithfulness.

Grateful for our people, the opportunity to serve, and the beauty God puts along the way.

Well... we have some pretty exciting news to share.

Oklahoma Chiller is officially the recipient of the ICE Group (Independent Contractors Exchange) - Industry Excellence Award for our 1,200-ton chiller modernization project!

This week, Joshua Woody and Jerrad Nicholas had the opportunity to stand in front of our industry peers and tell the story behind a project that started with a catastrophic VFD failure and became something much bigger.

Yes, they talked about the chiller.

They talked about the tight working conditions. The custom fabrication. The controls and VFD modernization. The problem-solving. The collaboration. And the decision to look beyond simply replacing what failed and find a better solution for the customer.

But most importantly, they talked about our people.

They shared how experience compounds from one project to the next. How knowledge gets passed between teammates. How different areas of our company came together to solve a problem that didn't have a step-by-step playbook.

And they talked about what can happen when we invest in our people, give them challenging opportunities, and empower them to become all they were created to be.
Build the people first.

We're incredibly proud of Josh, Jerrad, and every person whose knowledge, experience, support, and collaboration helped make this project possible.

The chiller was the proof. The people were the story. 🏆

When the numbers don't match, are you the person who has to know WHY? 👀

We might be looking for you.

Oklahoma Chiller is hiring a Staff Accountant in Tulsa, and we're looking for more than someone who can process transactions and check boxes.

**We want someone who thinks.**

Someone who catches a discrepancy and starts digging. Someone who asks good questions, takes ownership of their work, and can work in the details while still understanding the bigger picture.

This is a hands-on role across AR, billing, collections, cash receipts, purchase orders, reconciliations, month-end close collaboration, process improvement, and more.

-$25–$32/hour + overtime, based on experience
-100% employee health insurance + 50% dependent coverage
-4% 401(k) match + 3% profit sharing
-96 hours PTO + 8 paid holidays
-Dental, vision, life, short-term and long-term disability

And while the numbers matter, so does who you're doing the work with and why it matters.

Our mission at Oklahoma Chiller is to transform lives by inspiring and empowering employees to be all they were created to be.

If you're looking for a long-term career where you can take ownership, solve problems, and become a trusted part of the team, we'd love to meet you.

Facility teams!!! Free cooling season is just around the corner! Is your building ready?

It may still be hot in Oklahoma, but we all know how quickly our weather can change.

When cooler conditions arrive, your economizer may be able to use outside air instead of relying entirely on mechanical cooling. But summer overrides, changed settings, or a damper that is not responding can keep that from happening.

A little planning now can help your facility take advantage of cooler weather when it gets here.

As Labor Day weekend comes to a close, we’re thinking about the people behind the work.

The technicians in the field. The teams coordinating behind the scenes. The mentors teaching what they’ve learned. The apprentices putting in the time to learn it. The people answering the phone, solving problems, supporting customers and doing the hundred things it takes to keep everything moving.

At Oklahoma Chiller, we talk a lot about the equipment we work on. But at the end of the day, this company has never really been about chillers.

It’s about people.

We believe the work we’ve been given is an opportunity to serve others, use our God-given talents and help the people around us become all they were created to be.

We’re grateful for the men and women who bring their skill, effort, ideas and heart to that purpose every day, and for the customers and partners who trust us to put that work to use.

As the long weekend winds down, thank you to everyone who works hard, serves well and takes pride in what they do.

Happy Labor Day from Oklahoma Chiller.

“Transform lives by inspiring and empowering employees to be all they were created to be.”

It is written on our wall. This is what it looks like when those words move into the field.

A 1,200-ton chiller modernization may appear to be a story about a new VFD, modern controls, custom bus bars, and BMS integration. But the bigger story is what becomes possible when talented people are trusted, challenged, and empowered to find a better way.

No single technician carried every answer.

The project required refrigeration knowledge, electrical calculations, controls experience, fabrication, programming, commissioning, and a lot of collaboration between people willing to share what they knew.

As Jerrad explained:

“You don’t see the conversations and the text messages between all the guys.”

Our technicians were empowered to question whether returning the chiller to the same proprietary system was truly the best answer for the customer. They were challenged to think beyond the expected repair, learn from one another, and build a solution that reflected their combined capabilities.

And when something technically would have worked but did not meet their standard, the response was simple:

“It would have worked, but we can do better.”

The result was approximately $35,000 in upfront savings for the customer, remote monitoring, BMS integration, and a more serviceable system.

But the impact did not end with the equipment.

“Projects like this make your technicians better.”

They build knowledge, confidence, and capabilities that our technicians can carry into the next challenge and pass on to the people coming behind them.

This is what inspiring and empowering employees to become all they were created to be looks like in the field.

What happens when you need a subcooler and they’re on backorder?

You put your engineering hat on and head out to the shop. 😂🔧

That’s exactly what Jerrad did.

He knew the science. He knew what the subcooler needed to accomplish. And when waiting on one wasn’t an option, he designed and built his own.

Fast forward a few years and that original is STILL going… and has actually outlived several he’s purchased since. 😂

He’s also built five or six more for other technicians over the years.

That’s field experience at work. Sometimes knowing the “why” behind what you’re doing gives you the ability to come up with a pretty great “how.”

Techs, we know you’ve got some good ones… What have you designed or built over the years that worked so well it earned a permanent spot in your toolbox? 👇

If you’ve been following along lately, you’ve probably already seen these two leading.

You know Jeff from our “Before We Grab a Wrench” videos, where he shares the troubleshooting mindset that comes from years of hands-on experience.

And you may remember Cade from one of our very first employee spotlights, back when he had much longer hair. More recently, you’ve seen him mentoring the next generation of technicians in the field.

Their stories of how and why they came to Oklahoma Chiller are very different, but they share the same passion for serving people, teaching others, and living out our values with Kingdom purpose.

Now, the title is official.

Congratulations to Oklahoma Chiller’s newest Service Team Lead Technicans in Oklahoma City: Cade, our youngest Lead Technician in company history, and Jeff… who may be our most seasoned. 😉

Both men were leading long before their titles reflected it, and we’re proud to recognize what their teams already knew.

Congratulations, men. Well deserved! 👏

A failed compressor might not start with the compressor. 👀

In this round of Before We Grab a Wrench, Jeff walks through something that's easy to overlook: the grounding on a crankcase heater strip.

A failed heater can short to ground. Without a proper ground path, that failure can damage the auxiliary contact, bind the contactor and potentially leave the compressor trying to operate without all three phases.

And suddenly, a problem that started somewhere else entirely has the potential to become a compressor problem.

That's why Jeff isn't just looking at whether the equipment is running.

He's thinking about what could cause it not to be running later.

His takeaway for technicians:
Inspect those crankcase heater strips during preventive maintenance. Verify a good, solid ground. And before startup, make sure those auxiliary contacts move freely.

The little things matter because mechanical systems rarely fail in isolation.

Experienced techs: what's one seemingly small thing you always check because you've seen what can happen when someone doesn't? 👇
