👀 Where’s Miguel?!

We know… we’ve been slacking on the Where’s Miguel? updates.

Don’t worry—Miguel hasn’t disappeared. He’s been busy getting experience with different crews and learning every chance he gets.

📍 Monday: Working with one of our utility crews at the Greenhill Logistics project.

🌙 Tuesday (2:00 AM): When most people were still asleep—or just getting home—Miguel was already on the job at the Cargo Road Pavement project, talking with Drake about the laser screed and learning how precision makes all the difference.

🦁 Wednesday: Working with Tony’s crew at the African Wilds project at the Tulsa Zoo.

No matter where you find him, Miguel always has a smile on his face, a positive attitude, and is ready to jump in and learn. That’s exactly the kind of drive we love to see, and we’re excited to watch him continue to grow.

Who knows where he’ll end up next… maybe helping with our social media. 😉

📍Where’s Miguel? – We’re Back! 👷‍♂️✈️

Looks like Miguel was moving faster than our social media team this week! 😅 We may have missed a couple of updates, but don’t worry… Where’s Miguel? is back.

Today’s stop: Cargo Pavement Rehab at the Tulsa Airport. ✈️

Today, Miguel joined the crew as they installed protective steel bollards. He learned that it’s not just about setting them in concrete—it’s about making sure each bollard is plumb, level, properly aligned, and ready to protect the building.

One of the coolest parts of Miguel’s internship is seeing that every task, no matter how simple it may look, requires attention to detail and teamwork. In just the past week, he’s learned GPS layout with Topcon, spent time in heavy equipment, and now he’s getting hands-on experience with another important part of the job.

Every project, every crew, and every task is another opportunity to learn.

📍 Where’s Miguel? | Day 4

Today’s stop: The Shop. 🛠️

Miguel spent the day learning how our shop operates—organizing materials, getting familiar with inventory, and even getting some hands-on experience with the forklift. Every day he’s gaining a better understanding of what it takes to keep our crews running efficiently.

🌟 Friday Brag:
Although Miguel has been part of the Barnes Construction family, this summer internship has given him the opportunity to experience every side of the business. So far, he’s helped place a concrete slab, learned to drive a haul truck, started learning Topcon GPS and layout, and now he’s spending time in the shop learning how the equipment and materials that support our crews are managed.

No matter what we ask of him, he shows up ready to work, eager to learn, and always with a smile on his face. That kind of attitude is hard to teach, and we’re grateful to have him on the Barnes Construction team this summer.

📍Where’s Miguel? – Day 3 👷‍♂️📍

Today, Miguel traded the haul truck for the office to learn another side of the business—layout and GPS with Topcon.

Accurate layout is where every successful project begins. Before dirt is moved or concrete is poured, someone has to make sure everything is in the right place. Today, Miguel spent time learning how GPS technology helps our crews stake projects, improve accuracy, and keep work moving efficiently.

One of the best parts of this internship is seeing that construction isn’t just about heavy equipment—it’s also about technology, planning, and teamwork.

Every day brings a new lesson, and today was all about building the skills behind the scenes.

📍Where’s Miguel? – Day 2 👷‍♂️

Yesterday, Miguel got his first opportunity to operate one of our haul trucks. While that’s not where you’ll typically find him, it’s just one example of the hands-on experiences he’s getting throughout his internship.

Today, Miguel was back at Sheffield Crossing, learning from Renzo, Mario, and Javier while seeing how an active earthwork operation comes together.

From project management and estimating to time in the office, the field, and equipment operations, Miguel is getting to experience every part of what we do at Barnes Construction Solutions.

We can’t wait to see where Day 3 takes him!

P.S. Bruce insisted he was ready to head to the jobsite today… but we’re still waiting for him to complete his equipment orientation. 🐶👷😂

👷‍♂️ Meet Miguel!

We’d like to introduce our Barnes Construction Solutions Summer Intern, Miguel!

This summer, Miguel will be learning every side of our business—from project management and estimating to earthwork, utilities, concrete, and equipment operations. Some days you’ll find him in the office, and other days he’ll be out in the field getting hands-on experience alongside our crews.

To make things a little more fun, we’re starting a new series…

We’ll share where Miguel is each day, what he’s working on, and what he’s learning along the way.

Today’s adventure: Miguel started the morning helping with a concrete slab placement at Southern Hills Country Club. By the afternoon, he was at Sheffield Crossing, hauling material in one of our haul trucks. Two projects, two completely different experiences, all in one day!

🚧 Proof of Life... Barely 😆

If you've been wondering where we've been...

We're somewhere between a muddy jobsite, a concrete pour, a utility trench, a stack of submittals, and approximately 47 phone calls per hour.

So here's your official proof of life:

✔️ Moving dirt
✔️ Installing pipe
✔️ Pouring concrete
✔️ Chasing deadlines
✔️ Drinking coffee

We've been so busy turning plans into reality that we've forgotten to post about it.

Business is good, the crews are working hard, and we're grateful for every customer, employee, vendor, and partner who helps keep us moving forward.
