It’s a WINDY one out there!!

Roofs are prone to wind damage mainly because high winds don’t hit them uniformly. Wind usually inflicts harm to the edges of your roof or parts of it that have already been compromised. The affected areas are more prone to wind damage because they can be easily torn off.
Once these shingles fall off from the roof, others will soon follow. While modern roofing materials are built to be durable, they can only take so much. When winds are strong enough, even newly installed shingles can suffer damage or be blown off.
During a storm, winds and rains are not the only things you should be concerned about. There is also the risk of windblown debris hitting and damaging your roof. Watch out for uprooted trees, fallen branches and downed powerlines after a serious weather event. Be sure to get in touch with your local roofer for a professional inspection after a big storm. Even minor issues will eventually lead to leaks that can cause water damage to your home!
