South Jackson Performing Arts Center invites our community to join us in remembering one of our greatest champions, our hero, and our dear friend during a Candlelight Vigil on the front steps of South Jackson.
Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9
7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Starting tonight, on the evening of Lucyโs Celebration of Life, we invite you to bring a candle and place it on the front steps of South Jackson. A photograph of Lucy will be there as we gather in quiet reflection and gratitude. Come for a few moments or stay as long as you wish. Together, let us fill the steps with light as a symbol of the hope, love, and dedication she shared with all of us.
Lucy Boss was a huge figure of our arts community. Her passion, determination, and tireless efforts helped save and restore South Jackson Performing Arts Center. No task was ever too big or too small for Lucy. She was also instrumental in preserving the history of our beloved Community Playhouse and her work at SJPAC ensuring that Community Playhouse would always have a place to call home.
Because of Lucy, generations have experienced the joy of theatre, music, art, and community within these walls. Her legacy lives on in every performance, every volunteer, every standing ovation, and every life touched by the arts.
Help us honor a woman whose light will never fade by adding your candle to the hundreds of memories she leaves behind.
Thank you, Lucy, for believing in South Jackson, believing in Community Playhouse, believing in the arts, and believing in all of us. Your light will continue to shine here forever!
