Today, Holaday-Parks recognizes Juneteenth, a day that marks an important moment in American history and invites reflection on freedom, justice, and the ongoing work of building more inclusive communities.

Although today is a regular workday for our team, we honor the spirit of Juneteenth by acknowledging its significance and reflecting on the role each of us plays in creating respectful, welcoming workplaces.

In construction and service, our work depends on people—our employees, union partners, customers, vendors, and communities. We are better when every person is treated with dignity and has the opportunity to contribute, grow, and belong.
To learn or better yet to teach more about Juneteenth, here are some learning resources:

Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture—A strong starting point for the history and meaning of Juneteenth. NMAAHC explains that Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas, and freed enslaved African Americans more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Library of Congress—Good for historical context and primary-source learning. The Library notes Juneteenth as both a celebration of family and community and a symbolic date connected to the African American struggle for freedom and equality.

National Archives—Helpful for connecting Juneteenth to foundational documents like the Emancipation Proclamation and General Order No. 3.

PBS LearningMedia / Smithsonian Education Resources—Good for accessible videos, classroom-style explainers, and family-friendly learning materials.

BE4ALL.org (Belonging and Excellence for All)—A joint effort of SMACNA, SMART, and the International Training Institute focused on improving culture in the unionized sheet metal industry so it can attract and retain skilled workers while affirming the dignity of every person in the trade.

BE4ALL.org offers Juneteenth educational resources, including a resource flyer and calendar observance, as part of its broader work to support belonging and excellence across the unionized sheet metal industry.

Excellence in Action shoutout to Holaday-Parks' Safety Coordinator, Sarah Larsen, who recently earned the Associate Safety Professional Certification!

This certificate is a major milestone for a Safety Professional and consists of educational and professional experience—plus a grueling exam.

Safety Director, Chris Driemeyer adds, "Sarah is a positive member of our Safety Department and continues to show excellence as a Safety Professional. Please join me in congratulating Sarah for her achievement."

Last night, members of our Holaday-Parks team attended the BE4ALL.org Town Hall at Seattle’s Museum of Flight—a meaningful industry conversation hosted by SMART, SMACNA, and ITI around belonging, excellence, and the future of the unionized sheet metal industry.

Leaders were clear this initiative isn't about regulations or just numbers on a report. It's about us—people—raising the standard for how we treat each other today, while continuing to attract and retain the best trade talent of tomorrow.

As an MEP contractor and service provider, we know strong projects start with strong people. That means creating respectful, thriving workplaces for our employees, strengthening relationships with our union partners, and continuing to build a supply chain where qualified, capable partners have the opportunity to contribute.

We support BE4ALL’s mission and the ongoing work to make our industry stronger, more welcoming, and more competitive for the next generation of trade professionals.

Each of us can play a role to improve this work!

As you enjoy your family, friends, and the kickoff to summer this weekend, don't forget to take time to remember and honor those who gave the ultimate in service to our country. May we all live worthy of those sacrifices.

In observance of Memorial Day, Holaday-Parks' offices will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25th.

Yes the sound bite comes with some cheek, but we’re too excited to keep it low key! We’ve moved.

And behind the humor is something truly meaningful that our Ohio team has worked hard for: a NEW SPACE that supports our continued growth in the Greater Columbus area and gives our team more room to collaborate, operate, and serve our customers well.

Same Holaday-Parks values. New Location.

Ready for what’s next!

Thank you to the Evergreen CMAA () for the opportunity to spend time with your members and for the gracious hospitality of Overlake Golf & Country Club.

Led by our MEP Service Electrical General Foreman, Jeramie Gibson, Electrical Account Executive, Ryan Pernela, and featuring Craig Horner of Power Solutions NW, our “Dirty Power” session focused on a simple but important truth: unstable or distorted electricity is mostly invisible until it becomes expensive. It can quietly impact reliability, equipment lifespan, maintenance costs, and the member experience across everyday systems. But proactive mitigation is possible and more cost effective than reactive repairs or replacement in the long run.

We appreciated the strong engagement and thoughtful discussion around what "Dirty Power" means in the real world for clubs, facilities teams, and operations leaders.

Everyone’s power is dirty.
Are you protected?

Great work isn’t left to luck—it’s built—through strong relationships, shared values, and a commitment to excellence.

But it sure feels lucky getting to work alongside dedicated people who take pride in doing things the right way and partner with some of the best general contractors and building owners around the country to bring complex mechanical projects to life!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀 Sláinte!

Great work in our industry has always been about more than the systems we install—it’s about the people, mentorship, and craftsmanship behind them.

We’re proud to see Holaday-Parks' Managing Principal B.J. Giri featured in the latest SMACNews article, “Where Craft Meets Character.”

The story highlights the importance of investing in skilled craft professionals, building strong industry partnerships, and carrying forward the traditions that make union sheet metal work one of the most respected trades in construction.

At Holaday-Parks, we believe that developing the next generation of leaders and craftspeople is essential to the future of our industry. When you combine technical excellence with strong character, you create teams capable of delivering exceptional work for our clients and communities.

Thank you to SMACNA for recognizing the people and values that continue to move our industry forward.
