With copper prices higher than ever, watch your service feeders. Crackheads don’t mind taking a whack at live feeders. Emergency call for damaged pipes and feeder wire. One little damaged section would warrant a total replacement as we did here. They made off with two whole feeds and damaged another. 3 guys, twelve hours over night to get the building back up and running.

A facilities management company of a MOB (medical office building) requested lighting diagnostics for the entire first floor. Multiple fixtures were out in different areas, putting the owners out of compliance for lighting requirements with the state. Because the building is occupied late into the evening, energy control and fixture disassembly limited our work to early hours of the morning.

Vail Storage is expanding by 140 units. This project has gone through a large civil rehab prior to constructing the building. Getting the service to back corner of the property has required us to pull 600 mcm Aluminum wire (~1 inch diameter) for a 200 amp service because of the distance and voltage drop. More to come on building the serivce and pulling in the wire.

Electrical systems are the backbone of any project or structure, yet it often becomes an afterthought for many customers. Utilities are essential, and issues typically arise only when something goes wrong—such as a receptacle failing to power a device, a light not turning on, or an unusual burning smell.

Recently, a customer reached out for a new 200 amp service because Tucson Electric Power identified their existing 60 amp service as a safety risk due to age and degradation. This situation left the home de-energized until new equipment could be installed.

If you have questions about your electrical service, feel free to call us. We’d be happy to discuss your options for an upgrade.
