🛠️ Tech Tip Tuesday: Garbage Disposal Jammed?

Fixing Minor clogs on your garbage disposal:

Manual release: Insert a 1/4-inch hex/Allen wrench into the center hole on the bottom of the unit and turn it back and forth to free the jammed impellers. Once it unjams you will hear water flushing through

Reset motor: Press the red reset button on the bottom of the disposal if the motor tripped and stopped working.

Still stuck? Don't risk damaging your plumbing!
Let the pros handle it. Call Silverado Rooter and Plumbing at 520-696-0000 and we’ll have your kitchen back in action in no time!

Maintenance Monday:

How to maintain your garbage disposal

Use cold water: Always run cold water before, during, and for 20 to 30 seconds after using the disposal. Cold water keeps fats and grease solid so the blades can chop them up rather than letting them coat your pipes.

Feed slowly: Put food waste in gradually. Overloading the chamber strains the motor and causes clogs.

Never put grease, oil, potato peels, celery, corn husks, banana peels, bones, coffee grounds, or harsh chemical drain cleaners down the unit.

Call Silverado Rooter and Plumbing for all your plumbing needs. No matter the time of day or night we are always ready to serve you. 520-696-0000
