🐍 The "Boys of Summer" Are Here! 🐍

Jeff here with Animal Experts, and if it feels like you've been seeing more snakes lately, you're not imagining things.

Just like baseball has the "Boys of Summer," we're currently dealing with the "Critters of Summer"—and snake calls are coming in every single day.

Recently, we were called to a home where a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake had made itself comfortable between a screen door and a front door. Fortunately, the homeowner did exactly the right thing: she kept her distance and called Animal Experts.

After safely removing the snake, we relocated it back into a suitable natural habitat where it can do what nature intended—help control rodent populations and play its important role in our desert ecosystem.

While rattlesnakes are an important part of Arizona's wildlife, this is also the time of year when we see an increase in snake encounters and, unfortunately, snake bites.

⚠️ A few safety reminders:
✔️ Watch where you place your hands and feet.
✔️ Check before sitting down outdoors.
✔️ Be extra cautious around rocks, bushes, wood piles, and other shaded areas.
✔️ Remember that rattlesnakes blend in incredibly well with their surroundings.

Most snake encounters can be avoided with a little awareness and caution. Enjoy Arizona's beautiful wildlife, but always give it the respect and space it deserves.

If you encounter a snake on your property, don't take chances. Give the professionals at Animal Experts a call.

Stay safe out there!

🦉 Another Chimney Rescue Success Story! 🦉

It happened again! This young owl recently found itself trapped inside a chimney, but thanks to a safe rescue, it's now on its way to recovery and release.

While this owl may look fully grown, it's actually a "fledgling"—a young bird that still has some fluffy down feathers as it learns to navigate the world. You can even see the soot it picked up during its unexpected chimney adventure!

Did you know that Southern Arizona is home to more than 350 species of birds? Surprisingly, only four types of birds commonly fall down chimneys: Great Horned Owls, doves, pigeons, and ravens.

Our goal is always to safely rescue, hydrate, and release these amazing animals back into their natural environment where they belong.

If you discover wildlife in your chimney, attic, or home, don't attempt to handle it yourself. Give the professionals a call and let us help protect both you and the animal.

🦉 Every rescue matters.

Friendly reminder to keep trash and recycling lids secure!

This skunk likely climbed onto the recycling bin looking for food, slipped through the opening, and got stuck inside. With a little patience and a careful approach, Animal Experts was able to help it get out safely and move along on its own.

Wildlife is naturally curious, especially when food smells are involved. Securing bins can help prevent animals from getting trapped or coming too close to your home.

After a homeowner heard scratching and mewing inside the wall, Animal Experts found a young bobcat kitten trapped after likely slipping down from the attic.

Once safely removed, Marc noticed she was dehydrated and needed care, so she was taken to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator with the hope of reuniting her with mom.

If you hear unusual sounds in your walls or attic, call a professional. Quick action can help protect both your home and the animal.

When a baby bobcat found itself stuck behind a water heater, the homeowner thankfully made the right call to us and contacted Animal Experts.

While the mother bobcat wasn't around during the rescue, they are highly skilled at picking up their baby's scent and often return once things quiet down.

After safely retrieving the kitten, the goal was to leave the area undisturbed so the mother could come back for a reunion.

Situations like this are a great reminder to never try to handle wild animals on your own.

Calling an experienced professional is always the best way to protect both the animal and everyone nearby.
