Congratulations to Jack Rummer on an outstanding Eagle Scout project! We’re proud our employee owners were able to donate time and materials to help make the Riverfront Park flag plaza a reality. Special thanks to Hanna and Aurora for leading KE&G’s contribution. Community partnerships like these are what Constructing Legacies is all about.

8-4-26 ORO VALLEY EAGLE SCOUT CANDIDATE REFRESHES RIVERFRONT PARK WITH COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

Jack Rummer, a Troop 299 Scout, has completed a year long Eagle Scout project aimed at improving Riverfront Park’s curb appeal with a “flag plaza” - comprised of a flagpole, landscaping & benches - that is highly visible as you enter the Park. Jack’s Eagle Scout project - guided by his personal motto: “for God, Country and Family” - served as a demonstration of his planning, development & leadership skills while providing a benefit to the OV community.

Jack told us “Participating in Scouts has exposed me to many different leaders with many different leadership styles. This has afforded me the opportunity to cherry-pick my leadership style from the examples set before me. It is my hope that the Scouts who come behind me are able to take from my leadership skill set and build upon it.”

Jack began his journey with scouting in a small town in Illinois when he was in first grade. He appreciates all the opportunities afforded to him through Scouting, including Philmont (where he backpacked 70 miles over 12 days with fellow Scouts), National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT), canoeing through the boundary waters to Canada from the U.S., scuba certification, & catamaran sailing.
Jack’s Eagle project was made possible through broad community support. OV Parks & Recreation provided time & benches (Shout out to OV’s Jacob Heinzl, Jered Plasentilla & Ian Hess); KE&G constructed the concrete base; Structural Designs, Inc. supplied engineering drawings; Home Depot donated tools & concrete; Moon Valley Nursery contributed plants & mulch; Arizona Trucking & Materials discounted rock; & local businesses including Sam’s, Einstein Bros., & Dunkin’ Donuts supplied food for volunteers. Family & friends helped fund the flagpole.

Jack is currently an OV police cadet & was awarded the Exemplary Cadet award from his peers for outstanding leadership while attending the Academy this summer. He also enjoys swimming, rock climbing, reading, church youth group & has a part time job as a maintenance technician.

Jack hopes to continue serving younger Scouts after earning Eagle because “the Scout oath and law align with my strong moral foundation to serve others, lead humbly, and leave each situation a little better than you found it.” Ultimately, he will pursue an appointment to a U.S. military academy and a career in law.

We thank Jack for his service to the community & the welcoming “flag plaza” at Riverfront Park. We suspect this is just the beginning of many amazing things that he will do with his life & we wish him the BEST!

Another major milestone on Grant Road.

Our crews recently completed milling and paving from Fairview Avenue to Flowing Wells, moving the Grant Road Improvement Project another step closer to reopening in early August.

Work continues at the Union Pacific Railroad underpass, including concrete pavement, electrical and median improvements.

Thank you to our employee owners in the field and our partners at the City of Tucson for keeping this project moving forward.

For 250 years, America has been shaped by people willing to build something greater than themselves.

At KE&G, we're proud to do our part by building the roads, bridges, utilities, and communities that support the future.

Happy Independence Day, and thank you to those who continue to serve our country and our communities.

Our team is proud to be working on this project and self performing over 95% of this project. We’ve been able to scale labor and equipment to ensure that this project is delivered on time working 10 hour days Monday through Saturday.

Shout out to the city for the improvements, the community for bearing with us. The businesses being affected by the shutdown of the road and to our employee owners who’ve made this project happen. 👏👏

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, stepdads, grandfathers, father figures, and mentors who help shape the next generation.

Every day, our crews head out before sunrise, work through the heat, solve tough problems, and put in the effort it takes to build stronger communities. But their most important job isn't building roads, utilities, or infrastructure; it's being there for the people waiting for them at home.

Today, we celebrate the fathers who lead by example, teach the value of hard work, and show what commitment looks like both on and off the job.

From all of us at KE&G, thank you for everything you do.

Happy Father's Day.

In 2014, our company became 100% employee-owned. Every year, we stop to mark that. The past few weeks we have spent time together as owners, talked through what the ESOP means, and handed out captive insurance safety checks to the crews who kept each other safe this year.

When we work safe and the year goes well, the savings come back to our people. That's ownership working like it should.

500+ owners strong. Constructing Legacies.
