It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cynthia Perry, longtime owner of C.D. Perry.

Cynthia played an important role in the history of our company, serving in a variety of operational roles and continuing to assist with the business for many years. She took great pride in the Perry legacy and the foundation it built for future generations.

She was independent, resilient, and steady — someone whose loyalty and love were shown through action more than words. Her presence helped shape the character and strength of C.D. Perry.

Now reunited with Jack, may they rest together in peace.

🏗️💧🚧Project Spotlight: Indian Lake Dam Rehabilitation | Indian Lake, NY 🛠️🦺🌊

CD Perry is proud to be leading the charge on one of our capstone projects of the year — the Indian Lake Dam Rehabilitation for the Hudson River–Black River Regulating District, with Colliers Engineering & Design as our engineering partner.

Our team is delivering critical upgrades that will strengthen and modernize this key piece of regional infrastructure in the heart of the Adirondacks 🏔️🐟🌲— and we’re proud of the precision, dedication, and safety focus our crews bring to this challenging project every day.

Scope of Work Highlights:

✅ Mobilization and site access setup for the work operations from land and water.
✅Embankment stabilization — raising and flattening the downstream slope, installing a drainage blanket and toe drains.
✅Structural rehabilitation — installing post-tensioned rock anchors and performing concrete and masonry repairs across spillway and non-overflow sections.
✅Leakage control — grouting, repointing, and sealing masonry to reduce seepage.
✅Gate and control upgrades — new sluice gates, trash racks, and gatehouse operating platform.
✅Logway modernization — installation of a new operable bulkhead/logway gate.
✅Spillway bridge replacement and anchoring improvements.
✅Site and safety enhancements including fencing, access, debris boom replacement, and other upgrades.

🚧 Driving Albany Forward — Literally! 🚧

We’re proud to share that C.D. Perry & Sons is on site at the Albany Capital Center Expansion, leading the pile driving operations that lay the foundation for this exciting project — working alongside our good friends at BBL Construction Services.

Pile driving may not be glamorous, but it’s where every great structure begins. These deep foundations ensure the Capital Center’s new ballrooms, meeting spaces, and courtyard are built to last for generations.

This expansion means:
✅ A stronger foundation for Albany’s future
✅ More space for conventions and events
✅ Growth and opportunity for the entire Capital Region

🌊 Looking Back: Troy Seawall Stabilization🌊

We’re proud to look back on one of CD Perry’s most impactful past projects — the Troy Seawall Stabilization. This award-winning effort not only restored and reinforced a critical section of the Hudson River waterfront, but also showcased the best of our marine construction expertise.

📐 Scope of Work
This complex project involved:
• Tie-back installation deep beneath existing building structures to stabilize the seawall without disrupting the occupied properties above.
• Precision-drilled rock sockets with galvanized I-beams for long-term reinforcement.
• Precast lagging, including the hoisting of over 65,000 lbs. above the Dinosaur BBQ restaurant — a feat requiring detailed planning and ex*****on.
• Placement of thousands of cubic yards of concrete, above and below water, for scour repair, infill, and a mitigation wall running the length of the seawall.
• Construction of architectural pathways and landscaping to restore and enhance public access.
• Dredging and salvage operations, performed with careful environmental coordination.
• And many more aspects of marine construction, completed under demanding site and logistical conditions.

⚒️ The result was a resilient, stabilized seawall that continues to protect Troy’s riverfront and serve the community years later.

🏆 The project was recognized with multiple top industry honors, including:
• AGC NYS Jeffery Zogg Project of the Year
• Engineering News-Record Project of the Year
• American Public Works Association Project of the Year

Our team completed 32 vault installations for Segments 1 & 2, working for Kiewit, United Civil, and project owner TDI - a Blackstone Portfolio Company

This effort is a key step in building the underground transmission line that will deliver power to millions of New Yorkers—strengthening the grid and advancing reliability for generations to come. ⚡
