The Clarke Caton Hintz team had an incredible time visiting the construction site of the Ocean County Justice Complex Annex! Our designers gathered to explore the progress of this exciting project, gain firsthand insight into the construction process, and see the design come to life. It’s always rewarding to see our team’s work take shape and learn more about the collaboration and coordination that bring a project from concept to construction.

A comprehensive Master Plan was prepared to address security concerns and increasing caseloads, with a focus on improving the operational efficiency of the OC Justice Complex. The new addition reorganizes how the county’s judicial facilities are accessed and connected. It will serve as the central security screening and entrance to the entire justice complex. It includes eight new criminal courtrooms, collegial chambers, court offices, jury holding, probation offices, and many other essential functions.

We’re excited to see this transformative project progress and proud to contribute to a more efficient, secure, and functional justice complex for Ocean County!

We’re excited to celebrate the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the Ocean County Library new Stafford Branch!

As interior design consultants on the project, we had the opportunity to help shape an inviting, dynamic environment that reflects the evolving role of today’s public library. Thoughtful material selections, furnishings, color, and spatial experiences come together to create welcoming spaces for learning, gathering, collaboration, and discovery.

It was a pleasure collaborating with Yezzi Associates, the project’s lead architect, and the entire team to bring this vision to life.

Congratulations to Ocean County Library and the Stafford Branch community on their beautiful new space!

For NJ Climate Week, we’re looking back at Nicholas Engineering Student Projects Studio, Rutgers University's first net zero energy-use building. Completed in 2022 on Busch Campus in Piscataway, the studio addresses the need for space for student organizations to work on hands-on projects. It features a rooftop photovoltaic solar array, robust insulation, advanced mechanical systems and an efficient floor plan. The total energy used by the building is generated on site through renewable energy sources. The dedicated shop space provides students with opportunities to conceptualize and build scale-sized projects for intercollegiate competition, engaging young engineers in hands-on learning and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Michael Hanrahan, FAIA, Principal, and Matthew Mulkeen, AIA, Senior Associate, gave a behind-the-scenes tour of the Ocean County Justice Complex Annex with Ocean County Commissioner Jennifier Bacchione and County Dept of Buildings & Grounds representative Craig Ambrosio. This 156,000gsf project is being constructed by Ernest Bock & Sons Inc and is eagerly anticipated to be completed early spring of 2027.

A comprehensive Master Plan was prepared to address security concerns and increasing caseloads, with a focus on improving the operational efficiency of the OC Justice Complex. For Climate Week NYC, we’re looking back at Ruppert Plaza Garage and Macombs Dam Rooftop Park in the Bronx. Developed for New York City Department of Parks & Recreation as part of the Yankee Stadium Redevelopment Project, the park sits above a two-story parking structure beside the stadium. Community-minded amenities include a regulation-size synthetic surface football/soccer field, an eight-lane running track, four basketball courts, eight handball courts and a fitness circuit. Landscape planters buffer the rooftop park from the active streetscape beyond. Landscape elements carefully consider and enhance view corridors and provide a diverse mix of ornamental grasses and trees. The project brings infrastructure, landscape and neighborhood recreation together within a shared footprint.

As the school year gets underway, Trenton Central High School’s Bill Harvin Memorial Stadium, home of the Tornadoes, is ready for another great season! Shared by football and boys’ and girls’ soccer, the stadium’s turf field welcomes student-athletes for practice and competition. Game days bring classmates, families, and alumni to the stands, making the stadium a gathering place for the wider school community. The Tornadoes host Allentown High School on Friday, September 18, with kickoff at 6 p.m.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the community engagement sessions for the Delaware & Raritan Canal Park Master Plan! Your feedback at each of these five county-wide open houses will provide important guidance for the future of this historic 70-mile corridor from those who know and use the park best.

Community input plays an important role in shaping the Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park’s future, from preservation efforts and recreational opportunities to improvements throughout the park. We appreciate everyone who shared their ideas, experiences, and vision for this treasured New Jersey resource.

Thank you to the Delaware & Raritan Canal Commission for creating opportunities for the community to come together and be part of the Master Plan update!

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, we pause to remember the lives lost and the lasting impact of a day that changed our nation forever.

Designed by Clarke Caton Hintz, the Mercer County September 11 Memorial at Mercer County Park serves as a place of remembrance, reflection, and resilience. Its design evokes both the physical and emotional impact of the attacks through its materials and design. This includes a steel fragment from the World Trade Center set in a dynamic position, which is held by 13 steel cables-one for each of the 13 municipalities of Mercer County -evoking their collective strength.

At the heart of the Memorial, the words of Booker T. Washington remind us: “There are two ways of exerting one’s strength: one is pushing down, the other is pulling up.”

As we remember September 11, we honor those we lost, those who continue to carry its memory, and the strength of the communities that came together in the aftermath. May we never forget.

It’s that time of year again - back to school!

As students return to campus, we’re excited to spotlight The Hun School of Princeton with fresh professional imagery of its new dormitory. Designed as a true “home away from home,” the new residence provides 114 boarding student beds, intimate courtyards, shared living spaces, and faculty apartments while thoughtfully complementing the historic Hun School campus. Completed in 2025, the highly sustainable, all-electric facility creates a welcoming and modern environment for students to live, learn, and connect. We’re excited to highlight this project and wish all students a wonderful upcoming school year.
