Temps are already dropping at night, and once the cold really sets in, millings won't water and roll the way they need to for a driveway that actually holds up. ❄️

The process hasn't changed — spread 4 to 5 inches thick, water it down, roll it — but that process needs warmth to cure right. Wait too long into fall and this becomes a spring job instead. 🚧

If a millings driveway has been on your list all year, this is the week to make the call, not the week to keep putting it off.

Remember—asphalt millings are up to 80% CHEAPER than regular hot mix and give you an almost identical driveway!

Labor Day weekend: for most of us, it's one more long weekend before summer's really over — a cookout, time with family and friends, maybe one last chance to get an outside project done. But it started out as something else entirely. 🚧

The first Labor Day was celebrated on September 5, 1882, in New York City, when thousands of workers marched to honor the people whose labor was building the country. It took over a decade before Congress made it official — President Grover Cleveland signed it into federal law in 1894.

Over 130 years later, most folks aren't thinking about that history on a three-day weekend. But the idea behind it hasn't gone anywhere. It's still a day to recognize the people who show up and do the work — the crews, the contractors, the ranchers, and everyone here in Box Elder County who builds something with their hands.

We've been glad to be part of this community since 2002. Thanks for calling Landis Construction for your gravel, topsoil and asphalt needs, and for trusting Linford to answer the phone and get it right.

Every fall, the same story: rain moves in, and that low spot by the barn turns into a duck pond again. 🦆

Welcome to Landis Construction where we have DRAIN ROCK!

Drain rock fixes that before it starts. Set it where the water collects — around barns, corrals, low spots along a lane — and it lets water pass through instead of pooling into mud and puddles you have to deal with all winter.

Early fall is the window to get it down, while the ground's still dry enough to work and before we get any more rain.

💪If you've got a spot that floods every year, let's fix it before winter hits. (Granted, the ducks ARE going to be disappointed. )

There's topsoil and then there's topsoil. Ours is screened — no clods, no rocks, just clean, workable dirt you can rake smooth, lay sod on, or seed without picking rocks by hand all Saturday. A lot of folks get sold "topsoil" that's really just fill dirt with a better name. We've supplied Tremonton and the surrounding area since 2002. Call Linford at 435-232-3533.
