I have taken out 5 ground yellow jackets nests on my property, and have done more yellow jacket removals than I have in a long time. It’s looking to be a really bad year for yellow jackets. Don’t be confused into thinking that these hornets are bees and should be left alone. Of course yellow jackets have a purpose and are really beneficial to controlling insect populations, but they are not pollinators. If there is a nest that is in anyway going to possibly sting anyone it should be removed. Yellow jackets sting to hunt food and protect the nest. They do not die after they sting. Call me and I can deal with them without anyone getting stung.
