🐜 "Why am I Suddenly Seeing Carpenter Ants in My House?"
You're not alone—this is one of the most common calls we receive during the spring and early summer months.
Carpenter ants become more active as temperatures warm up, and you may suddenly notice them:
🔹 In kitchens and bathrooms
🔹 Around windows and doors
🔹 Crawling along countertops
🔹 Emerging from walls or ceilings
Why now?
✔️ Colonies become more active in warmer weather
✔️ Spring rains can drive ants indoors
✔️ They're searching for food and moisture
✔️ You may be seeing reproductive ants (swarmers) looking to start new colonies
Unlike termites, carpenter ants don't eat wood—but they do tunnel through it to create nests. Moist or damaged wood is especially attractive to them.
Seeing one or two ants may not seem like a big deal, but repeated sightings often indicate a larger colony nearby.
If you're noticing carpenter ant activity around your home, don't ignore it. Early detection can help prevent a much bigger problem later on.
