⚡ Today, Kenny and the Dynamo Electric team are in Annapolis completing a major service upgrade.

We removed an outdated 150-amp Federal Pacific panel and replaced it with a new 200-amp Square D Homeline panel. The upgraded system also includes a required 200-amp service disconnect and a 50-amp generator interlock with an outlet for portable generator power during an outage.

More electrical capacity, improved safety, and greater peace of mind when the power goes out.

Dynamo Electric is proud to give back to our community.

Last week, our founder and CEO, Kenny Daniels, dedicated three hours to speaking with local high school students who are still discovering their paths and considering what their futures may hold. Kenny joined a panel of local business leaders who shared their experiences, knowledge, and advice with the students.

Kenny spoke about the value of skilled trades, how he turned his passion and experience into Dynamo Electric, and what he would tell himself if he were a high school student again. His message was simple but powerful: “Don’t wait. Discipline over time, and everything compounds.”

He finished by answering questions from the students, and the response was tremendous.

We are grateful for the opportunity to encourage the next generation and help young people see that success can take many different paths. The skills and confidence developed today can build a brighter future tomorrow.

We’re on the job in Timonium, upgrading this home’s electrical service from 100 amps to 200 amps! ⚡

This project involves connecting an existing 14 kW generator to a new 200-amp transfer switch, replacing the electrical panel, and installing new service masts to provide the proper clearance for the incoming service line.

The team is working hard getting the new panel organized, secured, and ready for its breakers. BGE has approved the plan, and Baltimore County will complete the final inspection once everything is finished.

Every project has its challenges, but careful planning and experienced workmanship keep everything moving safely and correctly.

💡 Why are my LED lights flickering?

If your LED lights are flickering, flashing, pulsing, or randomly changing brightness, your first instinct might be:

"Fine. I'll just change the bulb." 😂

And sometimes, that actually is the answer.

But LED flickering can also be caused by an incompatible dimmer, a failing LED driver, loose electrical connections, electrical loads, voltage fluctuations, wiring issues, or even utility power.

One flickering light is different from several lights flickering throughout the house.

And if you're noticing buzzing, crackling, hot switches or outlets, discoloration, a burning smell, sparks, significant brightness changes, or repeated breaker trips, don't ignore it.

At Dynamo Electric, we troubleshoot the cause, not just replace the bulb and hope for the best.

Before the drywall goes up, the details behind the walls have to be done right. ⚡

Kenny and the Dynamo Electric crew are in Baltimore City completing the rough-in for a new room addition. Tony and Dave are wiring the switches, while Luca is installing the new recessed wafer lighting.

The team also updated the receptacles, switches, and lighting, then ran two new circuits to the panel with 15-amp and 20-amp GFCI/arc-fault protection.

The rough-in is complete, and everything will be ready for lights, switches, and receptacles when we return for the trim-out phase!
