Folks, this is what a power surge can do to sensitive electronics in your home. This is a GFI receptacle that was in a bathroom. The plug was still able to utilized (supplying 120 volts) but would not trip when tested. This a potentially dangerous situation. The power surge that occurred in the customers home also knocked out an AFCI circuit breaker in the main panel (servicing smoke detectors) and the HVAC system all of which have been fixed and corrected.
