⚠️ ATTENTION GEORGIA COASTAL PROPERTY OWNERS, BOATERS, AND WATERMEN ⚠️
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Coastal Resources Division has announced proposed rule changes that could affect private docks located over Georgia's state-owned tidal waters.
According to the notice, DNR is proposing new rules that would establish a licensing, inspection, and enforcement process for private docks built over state-owned tidal bottoms. The proposal would also create standards for construction, modification, maintenance, and compliance of private docks in tidal waters.
If you own waterfront property, have a private dock, use a dock regularly, or operate a marina, now is the time to review the proposed changes and make your voice heard.
📅 Public comments must be submitted by July 24, 2026.
📅 The Board of Natural Resources is scheduled to consider the proposed rules on August 25, 2026.
